Guests were eager to once again set sail aboard the Disney Cruise Line as the Disney Dream officially welcomed Guests and Disney characters back on August 9!

Though Disney Cruise Line has resumed after over a year of not sailing, the ships have enhanced health and safety measures to promote wellness for Guests and crew aboard the ship and in the destinations that Disney Cruise Line will visit.

With this being said, things may look a bit different than they did on your last Disney Cruise. To help make Guests aware of what to expect, Disney Cruise Line released a new promotional video that gives a glimpse at what the “reimagined cruise experience” looks like!

Disney Parks Blog shared the following video along with the caption:

Dreams Come True as Disney Cruise Line Welcomes Guests Back On Board

Dreams come true as @DisneyCruiseLine welcomes guests back on board once again, marking the long-awaited return to cruising. On behalf of everyone at Disney Cruise Line, we hope to see ya real soon!

Within the video, you see Guests and Crew Members wearing face coverings in appropriate places as well as enhanced cleaning for the safety of both the Guests and Cast Members on board.

You can also see how Disney characters make socially distanced appearances in select locations, including Castaway Cay (Disney’s private island). These appearances are similar to those that Guests can experience inside the theme parks, which Disney calls cavalcades!

Disney Parks Blog also shared the following information when talking about reimagining the cruise experience, all while keeping the magic alive:

The Disney Dream marked our long-awaited return to cruising in the U.S. recently when it embarked on its first tropical voyage to The Bahamas from Port Canaveral. It was a special time for our cast and crew, who were excited to welcome back our guests to make memories with us once again.

As always, the Disney Dream is overflowing with fun and excitement, including appearances by beloved characters, enchanting Broadway-style musicals and fireworks at sea – tailored to our times and presented with multiple layers of health and safety protocols in place.

This was also the first time we welcomed guests to our newly enhanced terminal at Port Canaveral. The art-deco-inspired building recently received a sprinkle of pixie dust to help improve the overall boarding experience from the moment our guests arrive. New terminal features include an extended covered walkway for arrivals, expanded terminal entrance, and a new passenger bridge as well as refreshed interior touches throughout.

Across the entire fleet, our focus remains on operating in a responsible way while creating magic for all on board. As our gradual phased approach continues across the fleet, we wanted to take a second to celebrate our return to sea in the U.S. with all of you.
