In Hawaii, Disney has their luxury and Guest-favorite Resort, Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa. Aulani is often a bucket list item for many Disney fans. It allows Guests to have a luxurious and relaxing vacation while still getting the chance to say hi to Mickey Mouse and experience once-in-a-lifetime offerings.

Although there are no rides available, the Resort is still incredibly family-friendly and a location that Guests of all ages can enjoy. Now, it seems Aulani is pushing even further towards a family Resort reputation, as they are changing one of their adult-only pools to accommodate children, as well.

Disney noted:

Aloha! We’re pleased to announce that Wailana Pool, formerly an adult-only pool, is now a family pool at Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa.

Located off the beaten track, the tranquil Wailana Pool is separated from the excitement of the main pool, allowing Guests to relax and unwind.

Meaning “calm waters,” highlights of the Wailana Pool area include a rock wall, water features and tropical greenery offering sanctuary from the bustling Waikolohe Valley area. Additionally, the adjacent Wailana Pool Bar serves a full bar menu and island-inspired lunch bites.

Guests looking for an adults-only pool area can visit the ‘Alohi Point whirlpool spa, where adults can savor gentle ocean breezes, colorful sunsets and sweeping views. The two terraced whirlpool spas feature an infinity edge, creating the illusion that they extend directly into the Pacific Ocean.

As discussed above, there are still areas of the Resort that are adult-only, so if you are planning a child-less vacation, you can still enjoy the relaxing pool areas without and children around.

Aside from swimming, Aulani offers a lot of child-friendly activities. From character interactions to excursions to visiting Aunties Beach House to splashing around at the Keiki Cove Splash Pad and so much more, Guests of all ages will enjoy this magical slice of paradise.
