Yoda’s line “Fear for you, I do” would’ve caused another issue

Actually, the answer is simpler. It is so blatantly obvious that Vader was not originally intended to be Luke’s father in New Hope. It was so dissonantly shoe-horned into Empire as to be headache-inducing. Worse yet was the profoundly idiotic reveal of Leia as his sister in Jedi, which was easily nixed as original concept from cut Empire scenes (including a passionate kiss between Luke and Leia). As my sister in law stated after seeing New Hope for the first time, it was clear that she would go for Han, not because she and Luke were siblings, but that “the woman will always pick the man over the boy.” 😉
