It may be hard to believe, but Pixar Animation Studios has been around for an incredible 35 years! In that time they have brought some amazing movies such as Toy Story (1995), Cars (2006), UP (2009), and Coco (2017) into our lives. In 2006, Disney officially purchased Pixar from Apple CEO Steve Jobs — although the two had been working together for years — and they have been a powerhouse duo ever since.

Well, turning 35 is a big deal, and one place is holding a full-out Pixar celebration. Located about 15 minutes from Hong Kong Disneyland is Harbour City, and they will be holding Pixar Fest — which will run from now until August 15. The fun event will feature a number of scenes and setups from classic Pixar films that fans can admire and pose with.

Here is some more information on Pixar Fest, provided by Time Out, a tourist’s guide to Hong Kong:

To celebrate the 35th anniversary of Pixar, Harbour City is teaming up with Disney and Pixar for a mega Pixar Fest this summer! Special scenes and sets from a selection of 12 classic Disney and Pixar movies, including Toy Story, Monsters University, Inside Out, Soul, Finding Dory, Incredibles, and many more, will be recreated and placed around the mall for everyone to get snap-happy. And don’t miss the installation of the iconic Pixar Ball and Lamp, which is said to be the same size as that in its headquarters in California – set up at the Ocean Terminal Deck. What’s more, there will be a series of interactive on-ground activities and online games available so you can go on an animated adventure even if you’re just in your PJs!

Hong Kong Disneyland officially reopened in February 2021, after two previous closures due to the pandemic. Hong Kong Disneyland currently requires all Guests to wear masks at all times, receive temperature checks before entering the theme park and is operating at a limited capacity.

Pixar Fest at Harbour City will only run until August 15, so make sure that if you are in Hong Kong, you head down to the water and check out the amazing exhibit!
