Magic Kingdom is one of the most popular Disney World theme parks for many Disney World Guests! It not only houses the iconic Cinderella Castle landmark but has a plethora of attractions for all ages.
Sometimes, however, Guests may not be able to hop on the attraction of their choice instantly. Some rides at Disney World will temporarily close from time to time due to a maintenance issue on the attraction. If Disney needs to adjust something that cannot be done while the ride is in motion with Guests aboard, they will have to shut down the ride temporarily to do so.
Oftentimes, when a ride closes temporarily, Guests can still ride the attraction that day as closures promptly resumed. However, there are instances where closure can last hours or longer, so it is always good to keep an eye out on the My Disney Experience app to ensure you know exactly what attractions are available to Guests.
Today, one of the most popular attractions at Magic Kingdom has closed down! Peter Pan’s Flight is experiencing a temporary closure, as noted by WDW Stats (@WdwStats), but as the Tweet notes, it should likely resume shortly as its estimated downtime is a small 10 minutes.

If we look at the My Disney Experience app, we can also see that Peter Pan’s Flight is marked as temporarily closed and is the only attraction to be closed at Disney World at the time of this article’s publishing.

An Historic Ride
The attraction is inspired by Walt Disney’s 1953 animated classic, Peter Pan, which in turn was based on J.M. Barrie’s play and book of the same name about a 12-year old boy who refuses to grow up.
Located in Fantasyland, Peter Pan’s Flight is modeled after the classic ride at the Disneyland Resort in Southern California—one of the few remaining attractions that was operational on opening day in 1955.
What ride would you be sad to see temporarily close at Disney World?
