I feel like some of the logic in this article doesn’t track. The “divisiveness” in the sequals isn’t about Leah taking on the mentor role. The classic fans love Leah, why would we mind that? That’s great.
The divisiveness stems from the systematic destruction of Han and Luke. They could have lifted Leah up as the mentor while not making Han and Luke into losers, and, in fact, it would have been far more progressive to do just that.
They way they did it suggests they felt the only way to bring Leah to the front was to diminish the male heroes. Like she wasn’t good enough to be in the front if they stood tall too. That’s awful.
So even if Filoni pushed a more Leah forward plot, that’s not divisive to the fans. Making Luke and Han losers who ran away from their responsibilities was the divisive part.
It’s why the girl power part at the end of Mando season 2 was so good. They didn’t have to diminish Mando in order to pull it off. They’re all awesome.
It feels like a shifting blames article, like look it’s not LFL story groups fault. It’s Dave’s fault too. And of course there is no civil war inside LFL we are all working together but is Dave fault.
