The only reason the in the wild birds swoop in to eat the guests’ food is because the guests stupidly feed the wild birds thinking it’s cute when they are actually doing more harm with human food, snacks, etc. and conditioning the birds to frequent these areas. Disney animals have handlers and are kept from harms’ way.
Exactly what I was about to say, do not feed the wild birds or the Disney owned ones for that matter unless specifically instructed by a cast member to do so.
I have two, both in the Magic Kingdom (Frontierland) & each time it was a dive bombing seagull. One snagged my churro & a 2nd one stole some butter that was shaped like Mickey.

I had a seagull swoop down and steal my hot dog at Magic Kingdom…evil things!

If you hang around the turkey leg cart long enough, you will see a stork grabbing a bite of turkey.
