The Disneyland Resort has now been reopened for over a month now and is operating successfully! After a year-long closure due to the pandemic, new health and safety measures were put in place. Now that the theme parks have reopened, not everything is fully operational. However, there is still one interactive experience that Guests can enjoy at the Disneyland Resort.
Now that summer is approaching, the California heat can be intense at times. This leaves Guests looking for a cool, indoor area. At Disney California Adventure, the best place for this is the Disney Animation Building. Not only is this a great space to get out of the heat, there are a lot of experiences to partake in here.

However, with current state health and safety mandates, this area is currently unavailable. Well, it’s almost completely unavailable.
The Disney Animation Building is home to the Animation Academy, the Sorcerer’s Workshop, and Turtle Talk with Crush. It’s become questionable whether these specific experiences can continue in a post-pandemic resort. Both the Animation Academy and the Sorcerer’s Workshop contain high-traffic and high-touch elements that do not coincide with health and safety mandates.
But with Turtle Talk with Crush, there is enough room to maintain safe and social distancing and there are no high-touch areas. The Disney Parks Blog describes this experience as:
In Turtle Talk with Crush, each interactive show uses state-of-the-art computer-graphic imagery. Each show is unique and improvised—meaning no two shows are the same, so you can come back again and again for more laughs!

This is great news for Guests that have not only been missing the Animation Building but who have missed this unique experience. In the midst of the pandemic, entertainment Cast Members were, unfortunately, subject to layoffs — but to have some who have been able to return for experiences like Turtle Talk with Crush is fantastic news!
It is important to note that times for Turtle Talk with Crush can be found in the Disneyland Mobile App along with other information as well. The screenshot below was taken on the day of this article’s publication, so you can see the showtimes that are currently listed:
