The most magical hotel on earth — the Disneyland Hotel — officially opens to the public on July 2, and we couldn’t be more excited. From updated rooms to magical experiences to themed dining (we’re looking at you, Trader Sam’s!), this hotel has it all. There is even a Monorail pool!
If you are planning a trip to the Disneyland Hotel, please know that your upcoming stay could look a bit different. Here’s what you should know before you stay at the Disneyland Hotel.
The Hotel Will Reopen in Phases — and Rooms Were Updated!
Disney has confirmed that the Disneyland Hotel will reopen in phases and operate at a limited capacity beginning July 2. We aren’t yet sure how long it will take for the hotel to ramp-up to full capacity, bring back all dining options, and open all towers, but here’s what we do know.
On July 2, the Disneyland Hotel will reopen to the public, and only the Fantasy Tower will be available initially. Disney has also shared that hotel rooms have, in fact, been updated during the hotel closure, which lasted over a year:
During the closure, the upholstery and fabrics throughout the guest rooms, lobbies and meeting rooms were refreshed and updated. The guest rooms now feature a fun new fireworks pattern in the carpet and upgraded platform beds to help maximize storage. The corridor flooring features new patterns inspired by the art of Mary Blair with graphic elements recalling the park lands each of the towers are named for.
Visit the official website for more details on Disneyland Hotel operations.
Not All Dining Will Be Open at First
When the Disneyland Hotel welcomes back Guests, not all dining options will be open.
The following locations will be open on July 2:
- Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar
- Tangaroa Terrace
The following locations will remain temporarily closed:
- Goofy’s Kitchen
- Steakhouse 55 and Steakhouse 55 Lounge
- The Coffee House
Note that in the initial announcement of the Disneyland Hotel’s reopening, The Coffee House was listed as one of the locations that would be reopening on July 2. Since then, The Coffee House has been crossed off the Disney Parks Blog post and it is no longer mentioned on the official Hotels of the Disneyland Resort: Know Before You Go webpage. We’ll update our website as more information becomes available.
Yes, it’s true — a hotel stay at the Disneyland Resort isn’t cheap! It will be expensive if you stay at the Disneyland Hotel on June 2 and beyond. At this time, rooms start at $445 per night and go up in price from there. Depending on the view you want, how many people are staying in your room, and the dates of your trip, you could end up paying much more.

Health and Safety Measures Will Be In Place
There will be a number of health and safety measures in place at the Disneyland Hotel when it opens on July 2.
The hotel will be operating at a limited capacity to ensure that there is not overcrowding throughout the hotel grounds. Guests will also be able to check-in online within five days of their arrival, and you are automatically checked out when your stay is complete. Guest rooms are thoroughly cleaned prior to arrival and the common areas of the hotel are cleaned on a regular basis.
All in all, the Disneyland Hotel wants to ensure that all Guests have a safe and magical stay.
