Disneyland Guests, get ready because as of July 2, you can book your stay at the Disneyland Hotel — and enjoy some pretty spectacular amenities!

At the moment, Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel is available to Guests for booking as it reopened on April 29, and Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel is reopening on June 15 — you can book your stay now! However, the iconic and historic Disneyland Hotel has remained closed throughout the ongoing pandemic. Now that it is reopening, we are not only getting back the classic hotel but Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar and Tangaroa Terrace are reopening as well!

Disney Parks Blog is encouraging Guests to “make a date at Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar,” a fan-favorite immersive bar at Disneyland Resort that fits the Adventureland theming at Disneyland Park to a tee. Considering Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto at Disney World — which typically would welcome Guests through the secret entrance at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort — has remained closed while most eateries and bars on the property have already reopened, seeing the original version of Trader Sam’s reopen at Disneyland is truly a treat!

Recently, Disney announced that the Jungle Cruise at both Disneyland Park and Magic Kingdom would undergo a reimagining to rid the attraction of culturally insensitive depictions within the ride. The storyline is being reinvented, and the visual representation of Trader Sam has been removed from the attraction and replaced with Trader Sam’s shop, which will be the final scene that Guests see before their ride is complete.

Because of all the changes that were going on with the ride and the ongoing closure of the bar, many Guests have been wondering if the themed drinking experience would be undergoing a change to match the changes coming to the attraction.

Considering we have not been in either Trader Sam’s for over a year, there may be changes made that Guests do not know about. Still, at least we know that Disney is not planning on removing the tiki bar altogether when it comes to the Disneyland location as that is reopening very soon. Hopefully, this news means that Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto in Disney World will soon open its door and allow Guests to experience all of the antics the bar can create once again!

Plus, since Trader Sam will still have some sort of presence on the attraction (his shop will be present in the new Jungle Cruise ride while he is off on his own adventures), it looks like Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar and Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto will be here to say.

Disneyland describes Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar as:

A Far-Out Voyage to Far-Flung Lands
Welcome, brave adventurers, to the wondrous watering hole of Trader Sam, head salesman of the Amazon. Sam is an expert at concocting head-shrinking potions and his travels far and wide allowed him to amass intoxicating ambrosial ingredients for his bubbly brews. Skip on over and try them for yourself—if you dare!

All around you are mementos of Sam’s exploits and trademark humour. You may very well laugh your head off!

Watch in wonder as the walls start to shake with volcanic eruptions all around you as you sip exotic elixirs of untold potency. You may not be able to shake the feeling that the tiki gods are watching you…

Legendary Libations
Intrepid explorers can test their mettle by summoning Uh Oa, the tiki goddess of disaster, with a Polynesian cocktail of little-known nectars. Partake of a Pago Pago, a sweet concoction of rum, chartreuse, crème de cacao, pineapple and lime.

Shipwreck on the Rocks, Krakatoa Punch and the Shrunken Zombie Head are among Sam’s other antidotes for the ordinary. A boatload of beers and wines are also served for thirsty travellers 21 and over, while Sam’s No-Booze Brews will enchant half-pint headhunters.

Jungle Cruise-ine
Hungry from exploring magical kingdoms near and far? Order up a Pu Pu Platter and feast on pork gyoza, Panko-crusted long beans, macaroni salad and sweet-and-spicy chicken wings served with togarashi aioli. Chart a fearless course to crispy tempura shrimp or colourful Rongo salad and then dive into a steaming bowl of tonkotsu ramen.

Sam swears these tropical delights won’t shrink your head—they just might stretch your belly.

Songs of the South Pacific
Select nights at sundown, sway your way to the torch-lit terrace adjoining Trader Sam’s and Tangaroa Terrace Tropical Bar & Grill. There, listen to the soothing harmonies of a live acoustic duo as they serenade you under the stars, adding yet another element to the evening’s enchantment.

When do you think that Trader Sam’s will reopen at Disney World, now that we know it is reopening at Disneyland in just a few weeks?
