When Guests visit Disneyland, oftentimes, they plan to ride certain major attractions. Now that Disneyland Resort is open again, there are some E-ticket attractions that Guests have been looking forward to riding for over a year.
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland is an incredibly popular land and new addition to the theme park, especially considering it has one of the most technologically advanced attractions. Rise of the Resistance has remained just as popular as the day it debuted, with Guests waking up extra early to ensure that they can secure a boarding pass to ride the attraction.
Unfortunately, attractions may go down for a temporary closure that can last from a few hours to a few days or longer. Today, Rise of the Resistance will not be running. When Guests join a boarding group on the Disneyland App, they will be greeted with an important update.
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is unavailable today and we will not be able to board any recruits. We apologize for this inconvenience. We encourage our Guests to explore other areas of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge or other offering at Disneyland Park.
Last week, we saw a similar issue present itself at Disney World at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, as the east coast version of the ride shut down for the entire day.
According to the Disneyland website, this is how the attraction is described:
An Attraction on a Scale That Is Impressive, Most Impressive
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is a massive attraction with multiple ride systems that is unlike anything you’ve ever experienced at the Disneyland Resort… or anywhere else in the galaxy!
Accept a Mission from the Resistance
The Resistance needs your help! Hidden in the forest outside Black Spire Outpost, the Resistance is gathering recruits for a secret mission.
With the First Order desperate to extinguish the spark of the Resistance, the mission is bound to have unexpected twists and turns. When your transport is captured by an imposing First Order Star Destroyer filled with legions of stormtroopers—and even Kylo Ren!—you’re going to need all the help you can get. Fortunately, a covert team of Resistance fighters—including Rey and BB-8—is at the ready to give you a fighting chance to escape… and a chance for the Resistance to rise.
Prepare for a thrilling, first-of-its-kind adventure!
Join the Virtual Queue to Experience It
Calling all members of the Resistance! To experience Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, Guests are required to join the virtual queue, only accessible via the Disneyland mobile app. Distribution times for virtual queue enrollment are daily, 7:00 AM and 12:00 PM. In order to give as many Guests as possible the opportunity to join the Resistance, each Guest can enter the virtual queue no more than once per day.
Starting the Day at Disneyland Park
Guests with a valid ticket and theme park reservation who will start their day at Disneyland Park can access the virtual queue system via the Disneyland app and check for an available boarding group starting at 7:00 AM, on the day of their park reservation. This can be done before you leave your hotel, home, or wherever else you may be at that time. You’ll need to have park tickets linked to your Disney account and applicable theme park reservations.
Starting the Day at Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure Park (with a Park Hopper Ticket)
To access the virtual queue opportunity to check for an available boarding group beginning at 12:00 PM, Guests must have a valid ticket and park reservation, and have entered Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure Park (with a Park Hopper ticket) by noon. Guests beginning their day at Disney California Adventure Park may then enter Disneyland Park with their Park Hopper ticket after 1:00 PM for their boarding group, subject to availability.
You’ll receive a push notification via the Disneyland app if your group is called to return. You’ll have up to an hour from the time of the alert to go to the entrance of Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.
The only way to experience Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is via the virtual queue. No standby lines are available. Access to a boarding group is subject to availability and not guaranteed. Distribution times are subject to change or cancellation. Joining the virtual queue does not guarantee the ability to experience Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.
We hope to see the attraction back up and running by tomorrow; however, if you want the most up-to-date information on the attraction, be sure to check the Disneyland app!
Would you be upset if you found out that Rise of the Resistance was closed on the day of your Disney visit?
