Fyi, the world is not changing so much as America is… some for the better and some for the worse. But I disagree with these changes at Disneyland.
The Parks used to be a safe, pleasant, family friendly, and neutral place to go for a family vacation. But now they’re going to look shady with an obvious bias that is not world-wide. Inclusion is one thing, your delusion is another. In an effort to not offend some, many others will be offended. Why change the classic and nostalgic theme of the park that has been so successful for decades? If I wanted to pay to see beards, tattoos, piercings, pda, and all the other current political/social tripe of America, I would just go to Universal Studios. ?

Kenneth, well said,my thoughts exactly, that’s what Vegas and San Francisco is for.I don’t know why this change, especially for Disneyland, that’s what made the park stand out Walt Disney wholesome family oriented atmosphere, traditional lifestyles when you stepped into Disneyland property. What a shame this decision that was made.

    2. Denise

I also agree with your statement and was thinking how to say it when I read your comment! Perfectly stated!

    3. Daryl-Rhys Taylor

      Totally agree with you.

    4. Alaina

      Agreed!

      1. Rachel Blankinship

We have a trip planned for October. This will be our last and final. I want to VOMIT! The pristine Disney presentation is forever lost. This is no way family friendly this is DISGUSTING!

        1. Sydney Barry

          Disgusting? How?

    5. Marsha

I agree. Disneyland is a fantasy land where all could go to get away from every day craziness. Now they want to destroy the image Walt designed. Disney is gyro become more like Knotts Berry Farm and Magic Mountain.

    6. Rachel Blankinship

      Perfectly spoken.

    7. Angel

So right and we’ll said! We go for the magic, to leave the world behind. I love the fantasy that Disney is, that I can forget about all the nonsense, the politics……. And enjoy a day away from the real world. But alas, it has followed me to Disney World now.

  2. Dorothy

I have to say that my en tire family feels the same way! Disney has always been a place to go to escape the world and it’s problems, for us this will no longer be the case. It has always be tradition in our family that a child’s first trip is for their second birthday. Aunts , uncles, grandparents, cousins all make the trip…. we will no longer be making this trip as we’ve always enjoyed the family friendly, wholesome, traditional atmosphere……..

Walt is turning over in his grave, his vision has been distorted and destroyed, yeah, yeah, yeah if ya dont like it stay home, is what people will say

    1. Marsha

It is sad that Disney feels they have to “bend” to please a few. Walt Disney had a image of how cast members should look and greet for a reason. This change is caving in to a small percentage of society. Tattoos, painted nails, and jewelry take away from the image of each uniform. Men in dresses! Yes, I have seen it. Disney is a place to get away from all the craziness in America. Disney is losing its MAGICAL TOUCH.

  4. Melissa

I love that people think beards and “appropriate” tattoos are going to ruin their vacation.

    1. Ethan

Nobody said it was going to ruin their vacation. Going to Disney used to be a unique experience. With all the changes they are making because of the “woke” community, they’re not going to be any different then going to the county fair. That’s what people are upset about.

    2. KenG

Zeno it will not ruin their vacation, however…. It has been one of the reason the Disney parks have felt so safe and family friendly. Over the decades going to other parks in our area (Knott’s, Six Fags), those places and a lot of their workers just seemed unruly, A lot of that had to do with the look of their employees, or more accurately their hair, make-up, dress, etc. – basically scruffy in their look.
Where was Disneyland prided itself in well-dressed and consisted looking CMs that went along with how the entire park was presented.
When you are hired you are told about the dress code, and asked if you except that. If not, fine, work somewhere else.

    3. Sydney Barry

I agree. I’m surprised the comment section is so conservative.

    4. Blinger

It DOES ruin it. Nobody wants to look at all of these woke freaks. It’s people like you who have ruined the once clean family fun of Disney World who readily accept this abhorrent abnormal behavior. They can keep it!

  5. MagicSibs

I have almost given up on Disney. The ‘Walt’ in the Walt Disney Company is gone. It has been replaced by political management team driven to publicly be “woke”. They are alienating a big segment of their fans.

    1. Rachel Blankinship

      I couldn’t agree more.

  6. NoMagicHere

The world IS changing…not necessarily for the better. I gave up on Disney when they required masks, and it’s 90% an outside venue.

  7. Donna

Yeah right. But let’s not reduce our admission price so that more people can afford to go even further a day. What frauds.

  8. Paul

How sad it is to read that making a world, a society, or even a theme park open and welcome to all makes so many people angry and afraid.

Yes, the world – not just the US – has changed, and the speed of that change is increasing. I’m an old white guy, and I’m excited and heartened by these changes. The world is slowly becoming a better place for everyone, regardless of backgrounds, biologies, or beliefs.

This is good, people. This is all good.

    1. Alter's Ego

Ha, funniest comment all day. Flip on the news Paul and then tell me the world is in a much better place today then it was before!

    2. Brad

Paul – Also an old retired white guy and I agree with you 100%

    3. Jordan

I couldn’t agree with you more, Paul. So many on this post are being so irrational. Why someone else’s appearance would have an impact on your vacation is beyond me, but I guess some people have too much to be upset about. I’m glad to see companies being more open and accepting ?

Are we now going to see guys with green hair wearing skirts/skorts? Can we not?? I cannot be the only person who is completely exhausted by this constant push for “diversity & inclusion”. It’s become the mantra among the woke left and does more to divide than unite.

  11. Sad

I thought the cast members were supposed to represent the Disney Brand and what they are about not to express their cultures and individuality at work. Most work places have dress codes. It’s a shame that Disney feels the need to become more “Woke” because a small amount of people don’t like how things are run at bigger companies. The magic is slowly disappearing

  12. roy

Want more inclusion ? Put your money where your mouth is ! Lower your outrageous prices so the minorities you pretend to support can afford to go there ! PHONIES !

    1. Pat

Give it time, they’re will be a whole new tier system for pricing based on race, all in the name of equity!

  13. D

You guys are so funny lol I just wanted to say I love everyone in the comments. First of all, read the whole article, which has nothing to do with gender inclusivity so if you have something to be transphobic about here is not the place. Second of all, how does somebody having a cool haircut and tattoos make Disneyland less of a fantasy land? You saying tattoos aren’t mystical and wonderful and magical? If you seriously think Disney allowing their employees to Exist like normal people is bad, You should probably go to therapy and analyze why you feel the need to control and censor other people!!! You guys are all so so silly!

    1. Sydney Barry

Agreed. I bet they’re all brigaders from conservative websites.

  14. Really?

They can express themselves off the clock.

    1. PekaFisherman

They had a whole year to express themselves, during the furlough. Now that the cast members are back to work, it’s time to put the “dress up” clothes away, and get back to work, in the “Disney Look” you were hired, and agreed to uphold.

I support Disney on this decision. I don’t care a BIT about “traditional American family values”. I’m all for inclusivity!
