Back in November 2020, Imagineer Joe Rohde announced that he was retiring after over 40 years with The Walt Disney Company.

Rohde came to Disney at the young age of 25 as a model designer who helped work on the creation of EPCOT Park.  From there, his work with Disney only grew, and he eventually went on to become one of the chief architects behind Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park.

Over all of the years and all of the projects, Rohde has amassed quite a collection of Disney memorabilia.  After announcing his retirement, Rohde took to Instagram to further announce that he would be selling some of his collection on eBay.  These items were extremely popular among diehard Disney fans, with some items selling for hundreds of dollars.

Well, Rodhe has once again that he is selling some of his Disney items on eBay.

Retirement involves downsizing a bit which has surfaced a pile of old Disney memorabilia from 40 years of “Oh that might be worth something.” These are now emerging from plastic bins and cardboard boxes in basement, attic, garage, studio, and dark corners of closets where no one has been since before Friends was cancelled. All of it is now in the hands of a friend who is selling it off. eBay. Link in bio. So much you might ask. “what are you keeping?” Well…my various trophies, a few Disney’s Animal Kingdom bits, an Aulani lamp, and social harmony in the household.

This amazing Animal Kingdom backpack — currently listed for $1,500 — is full of opening day specialty items that would make quite the addition to any Disney collection.  According to the eBay description:

Includes a Grand Opening Day Celebration glass plaque, baseball cap, (2) bottles of coke with the stamped logo, an American Express/DAK waist bag, and a blast from the past – a Windows CD-ROM Walt Disney World Explorer game!
