Know Before You Go

While looking over what will be available to enjoy as far as Disneyland events and experiences go, Disney officially announced some important information regarding what Guests will need before entering the parks. Disney noted:

“To enter a Disneyland Resort theme park to participate in a special event, tour or experience, each Guest must have:

A reservation for the special event, tour or experience, if required.
A theme park reservation and a valid park ticket for the applicable park and date, unless the special event, tour or experience includes park entry.

Appropriate face coverings for all Guests ages 2 and older, including those who have received a COVID-19 vaccine, which must be worn at all times, except while actively eating or drinking, and while stationary and maintaining appropriate physical distancing. Please bring your own face coverings, and remember to not touch your face. Disney reserves the right to require a Guest to leave if they are not properly wearing an approved face covering.”

Before Disneyland closed due to the pandemic and COVID 19 outbreak, Guests could travel to Batuu’s Black Spire Outpost at Galaxy’s Edge. There, a group known as the “Gatherers” lead you to a secret workshop. With the help of the gatherers, Guests could construct their very own lightsabers. The Disneyland website officially describes Savi’s Handbuilt Lightsabers as:

Meet one of Savi’s Gatherers outside his workshop, where you’ll choose one of 4 available hilt themes and receive a cloisonné pin to identify your selection. Themes include:

Peace and Justice
Salvaged scraps from fallen Jedi temples and crashed starships in these Republic-era designs honour the galaxy’s former guardians.

Power and Control
Originally forged by dark side warriors, this style features rumoured remnants from the Sith homeworld and abandoned temples.

Elemental Nature
This theme embodies the Force—an energy created by all living things, like Brylark trees, Cartusion whale bones and Rancor teeth.

Protection and Defense
Hilt materials bear mysterious motifs and inscriptions that reconnect users with the ancient wellspring of the Force.

Disney shared that this experience may be available to Guests when they visit Disneyland Park upon reopening. Reservations will be limited and Guests can begin planning this experience on April 22, 2021. Each lightsaber costs $199.99, plus tax, and includes a kyber crystal of your choice, available in red, blue, green, or violet.
