Today, Disneyland opened up its dining reservations system to Guests.  This comes one week after Disneyland began selling tickets to the theme park’s April 30 reopening on April 15. Guests waited for hours to try to get tickets for both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure Park.

Then, there was another virtual queue to make theme park reservations.

Today, Disneyland dining reservations quickly filled up and are now booked through late June. Guests going to Disneyland’s website to try to book something will see that there is absolutely no availability for dining beginning on Disneyland’s reopening day, April 30.

Dining at both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure is full throughout opening weekend, and that full calendar goes all the way through late June, which is as far in advance as Guests are currently able to make reservations.

It should be noted that Disney dining will not look the same when Guests return to the parks. Disney is taking every precaution to keep Guests and Cast Members safe. That means modifications to the dining experiences in the parks. Disney made the following statement on their website:

We’re committed to a responsible reopening of the Disneyland Resort—and we’ve made some important updates and enhancements to our dining experiences based on guidance from health authorities, such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and appropriate government agencies.

Upon reopening, many dining experiences may be modified or unavailable. At this time, following state and county guidelines, outdoor patio seating and limited indoor seating at select locations will be permitted.

By following the California state guidelines, restaurants cannot be opened to full capacity at this time. Orange County, where Disneyland is located, is currently in Tier 3 – the Orange Tier. That means that indoor dining locations are limited to an indoor seating max capacity of 25% and with outdoor dining, Guests must be socially distanced.

Sit Down Restaurants That Will Be Open

The following sit-down/table-service restaurants will be open when Disneyland Park and California Adventure reopen on April 30.

  • Café Orleans
  • River Belle Terrace
  • Carthay Circle
  • Lamplight Lounge

Even though reservations may be full at the moment, there is still a chance that you can get a coveted dining reservation. Guests who cancel their reservation will free up a spot, which will show up on the Disneyland dining reservation site.

Disneyland Resort has also started using what they are calling Mobile Walk-Up. The mobile walk-up experience began when Disney California Adventure opened up for the hard-ticketed event, Touch of DisneyThe Disney Parks Blog posted:

While dining reservations are highly recommended, you can also add yourself to the mobile walk-up list (subject to availability) for Lamplight Lounge and Carthay Circle Lounge – Alfresco Dining using the Disneyland mobile app. If you don’t find walk-up list availability right away, you can check estimated wait times and look for reservations that may be available later in the day.

If you didn’t get the Disneyland dining reservation you wanted, make sure to check back on the Disneyland website, or Disneyland app, daily to see if anything has opened up. At this time, there are still some reservations open for dining in Downtown Disney.
