Multiple reports, including photos and video of the fire, were shared on social media.

We do not anticipate there was any serious damage as firefighters quickly responded and extinguished the fire. No structural damage was caused by the fire, so we will need to wait and see if Universal put forth any more details about the fire.

@eatlovePray11 on Twitter sharing this:

– ALERT: FIRE REPORTED AT UNIVERSAL STUDIOS CALI A Fire has been reported at California’s Universal Studios theme park What we know? Fire personnel are currently on the scene of a 5 acre brush fire burning at the world famous theme park.

@LACoFD also took to Twitter to share news of the fire, confirming this did take place at Universal Studios Hollywood and that no structures had been damaged:

GRASS FIRE | FS51 #UniversalStudios | 3900 Lankershim Blvd | E51 reports a 20’ x 20’ spot on a hill north of Gate 6. No structures threatened. E8 E51 BC1 and @LAFD E76 can handle. Initial 1st Alarm brush assignment canceled. #LACoFD

As the Los Angeles County Fire Department alert page reported on Twitter, the brush fire was handled quickly, and additional units did not need to respond to the scene last night.

This is particularly good news because we know that in 2008 Universal Studios Hollywood, suffered an extremely damaging fire that destroyed many parts of the theme park and film studio. The fire that occurred yesterday evening, on the other hand, did not cause any damage.

Intel Point Alert on Twitter sharing another video of the fire.

#ALERT: Fire reported at California’s Universal Studios theme park #LosAngeles I #CA Fire personnel are currently on scene of a 5 acre brush fire burning at the world famous theme park. The park has been closed due to Covid-19 guidelines. Any significant updates will follow!

Universal Studios Hollywood is currently holding a special event called Taste of Universal, and the theme park has not officially reopened after its year-long closure due to the pandemic.

Since no damage was caused due to last night’s brush fire, Universal will continue on today with the regularly scheduled Taste of Universal event.
