For the rest of the month, Orlando locals and visitors should expect an influx of crowing, especially at Universal Orlando Resort thanks to spring break.
Spring break is scattered over a few weeks and typically lasts until the beginning of April, depending on various school systems’ schedules. This year, due to the pandemic, Universal Orlando Resort has capped their theme park attendance at 35%, which can make things difficult when there is a spike in Guests visiting the theme parks.
Most recently, Universal sent out a notice to their Annual Passholders warning them that crowds are coming and that Universal Studios Florida, Universal’s Islands of Adventure, as well as Volcano Bay water park would likely be hitting their capacity limits more often. Now, on the first Monday of spring break, it seems that Universal has already proved their theory true.
Universal Orlando Resort (@UniversalORL) recently Tweeted:
Today, March 15th at 11:42 am, Universal Studios Florida & Islands of Adventure have reached capacity. We anticipate reopening later this afternoon. For updates, please call our capacity hotline: 407-817-8317

Ethan the HHN kid (@ThatDisneyBoi) posted a photo on Twitter of the line to get into the parking garage at Universal Orlando Resort today. From the looks of it, it seems that Universal has been quite busy since this morning.

If you want to avoid disappointment before arriving to a full capacity Universal Orlando Resort theme park, be sure to call the capacity hotline as the Tweet said, and check Universal’s socials as they often update their Twitter to alert Guests when the parks hit capacity.
If you do ever show up to a full park, do not fret! As Guests leave, Universal allows others in — plus, with CityWalk shopping and dining options available, it is easy to pass some of the time!
