According to a report by the Orlando Sentinel, Orlando ranked as one of Expedia’s most searched travel destinations for 2021. Despite the pandemic temporarily closed many of the tourist destinations in Orlando last spring, it appears that travelers who may not have visited in 2020 are still searching for Orlando vacations for their spring trips in 2021.

This is not a surprise, as there has been a large effort not only by the theme parks, but also by Visit Orlando, to help boost tourism to Orlando this spring. Spring is typically a busy time for Central Florida. However, thanks to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, this year still looks a little bit different.

In order to help boost tourism to the Orlando area, Disney has launched special deals and offers that make traveling more affordable. In addition, Universal Orlando Resort is offering special travel deals for Spring Break that are sure to entice any traveler who was on the fence about booking a trip. It would seem that these efforts, combined with the new Visit Orlando campaign, are working to help boost tourism for spring in Orlando.

Obviously, as the pandemic continues, there is an inherent risk when you choose to travel. But, both major Orlando-area theme parks have taken extreme precautions when it comes to the health and safety of their Guests and Cast Members/Team Members. At this time, no outbreaks of coronavirus have been linked back to either of the theme parks.
