Disney live streamed an old trailer for The Rise of Skywalker on the Walt Disney Animation Studios official YouTube Channel. Why they are live streaming and if this was a glitch, mistake, or hack is unclear. The live stream lasted a total of 14 minutes!
Since it took Disney 14 minutes before the stream ended, it is unknown if this was a test or a mistake! This is not the first time a mistake has occurred with a TROS trailer — last year, YouTube glitched and showed a ‘Rise of Skywalker’ tickets ad a year late.
Why does this continue to happen with The Rise of Skywalker? We do not know. But, we love the film, and it has some great trailers. Although it isn’t immediately clear which trailer or trailers were included in the loop, these are two official Lucasfilm trailers that were released ahead of Rise of Skywalker.
If these made you want to watch Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, all you need to do is turn on Disney+. That is where you can find it streaming.
Here is how Lucasfilm describes Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker if you are not familiar with this 2019 film:
As the ninth installment in the Skywalker saga, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker concluded the sequel trilogy with a galaxy-spanning adventure of heroism, sacrifice, and redemption. The young Jedi Rey and villainous Kylo Ren take center stage in an epic story that weaves together decades of Star Wars storytelling.
The Rise of Skywalker was directed by J.J. Abrams, written by Chris Terrio and J.J. Abrams, and produced by Kathleen Kennedy and Michelle Rejwan. Across Lucasfilm, the entire company mobilized to deliver this long-anticipated conclusion to one of defining myths of the modern era.
Whatever the cause for the looped live stream of the trailer Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker we are not mad about it. It gave fans a great laugh!
