Don’t live in Florida? This is what will make us finally make the big move. The Disney Parks Blog revealed the new design for the collaborative Make-A-Wish specialty Disney license plate today via a Facebook post, and Disney fans immediately began attempting to collect their preorders from last year.
Will Disney engage other states’ DMV to allow more Disney fans to pick up a Disney-inspired car tag?
Disney License Plate
“The World’s Most Magical Celebration” will begin later this year on Oct. 1, 2021, the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World. Florida car owners can prepare to celebrate by purchasing the first-ever Walt Disney World Resort specialty license plate!
We’re finally seeing the design of this specialty plate, which was made available for preorder in late 2020 (with no visible design example) for $25 plus applicable state administration fees through Floridian’s local County Tax Collector’s offices and license plate agencies across the State of Florida. 100 percent of the proceeds will benefit Make-A-Wish of Florida.
If you are a Florida resident and do not yet have a preorder with the state, you can purchase a Disney license plate presale voucher now exclusively through your local County Tax Collector’s Office, Florida DMV, or online through the Orange County Tax Collector’s Office. A minimum of 3,000 presale vouchers are required to be sold by the State of Florida before manufacturing of specialty license plates may begin, but we’re certain with all the interest we’ve seen from fellow fans, this vehicle tag benchmark will not be hard to surpass.
The Disney license plate tag will feature the “EARidescent” color scheme prepared for the 50th anniversary celebration, along with the associated castle logo on a majestic royal blue background. This color scheme was inspired by Cinderella Castle’s new paint job and will donate 100 percent of its proceeds to benefit Make-A-Wish of Central and Northern Florida children. The agency’s work is to grant wishes for children with life-threatening medical conditions, and many of them choose Disney-related wishes.
From the Disney Parks Blog website, we get even more information about the Make-A-Wish and Disney collaboration, which has been active for at least 40 years.
Disney has a longstanding relationship with Make-A-Wish, dating back to 1980, and since then, more than 140,000 Disney-inspired wishes have been granted, including thousands taking place at Walt Disney World Resort. This license plate is a unique opportunity to commemorate 50 years of Central Florida magic.

You can support Make-A-Wish when you or at Disney stores by purchasing the Wishes Come True Blue collection, including spirit jerseys, ears, masks, jewelry, and more. The collection was made for both children and adults with the world’s first pair of adjustable Mickey Mouse ears.
