Popular EPCOT Dining Location Closes for Refurbishment - Inside the Magic

Dear EPCOT foodies, if you are a fan of the Rose and Crown, we have some news for you!

Restaurants around Disney close down all the time due to refurbishments that help keep them fresh and up to date — but if there is one Walt Disney World Resort theme park that Guests hate to see restaurants close in, it’s EPCOT. Considering the World Showcase is arguably made up of the best food out of any Disney World theme park when a dining location has to close, that’s one less delicious option for Guests.

The Rose & Crown Dining Room in EPCOT is currently closed to undergo a refurbishment. Disney noted, “From February 15 through early spring, Rose & Crown Dining Room will be closed for refurbishment. During the refurbishment, the Rose & Crown Pub and Yorkshire County Fish Shop will be open and serving a selection of British cuisine and beverages.”

According to their dining calendar, the U.K. pavilion table service restaurant should reopen on March 22, 2021, but as we have seen with many Disney attractions that have been refurbished (Yes, I’m talking to you PeopleMover), those dates can be subject to change.

Although the Rose & Crown Pub is still open to Guests if you have ever entered the pub you know that it is a small space where dining a full meal is not really possible. Therefore, it seems that those looking to indulge in some British cuisine over the next few weeks will have to settle with fish and chips at the Yorkshire County Fish Shop’s quick service stand.

Disney World describes Rose & Crown by stating:

British Fare
Delight in such specialties as fish and chips, bangers and mash, and more. In addition to British selections, the kids menu includes favorites like turkey meatballs and cheesy pasta.

Dine inside or outside on the patio overlooking World Showcase Lagoon. Just be sure to leave room for sticky toffee pudding!

Full-Service Pub
The Rose & Crown Pub features frosted windows and cold refreshments.

Choose from a large selection of British beers, ciders, scotches and signature cocktails. Pop in to Rose & Crown Pub and share a toast.

If you are unsure where to eat now, do not fret! EPCOT has so many delicious food items. From the France pavilion to the Norway pavilion, there are table-service and quick-service options around the park that cater to everyone’s taste buds. Want my advice? Head to Via Napoli in the Italy pavilion.

There is also EPCOT’s Festival of the Arts currently ongoing around the park and EPCOT’S Flower and Garden Festival beginning next month. These mini dishes can easily fill you up, and are always unique and delicious!
