Eric Dowdle and the Dowdle Disney Collection
Eric Dowdle is a well-known artist whose folk art paintings have delighted art lovers and Disney fans for years. You may be familiar with his work as it is sold at both Target and Costco, as well as online — and there are even puzzle versions of his artwork, too! But for us at Inside the Magic, our favorite Eric Dowdle works are in the Dowdle Disney Collection, a collection of magical and unique Disney artwork with a folk flair.
Additionally, if you are planning to visit Disney World for the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts this season, be on the lookout for Eric Dowdle signing his artwork. Artist Eric Dowdle will be at Walt Disney World’s EPCOT on February 12-16 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Mickey and Friends Painting in Paris – 11″ x 14″ Gallery Wrapped Canvas
With the inspiration of some of the world’s greatest galleries, I love the idea of Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck playing the part of both artist and model. Paris inspires even the simplest of artists to try their hand at a sketch or two… or maybe even some “figure” drawing.

We sans of the original Mickey and Friends characters, we love this painting inspired by Paris. Mickey and Donald are front and center, with Mickey as the artist and Donald as the model. Just below, we see Pluto as happy as can be. And, on the left and right sides of the painting, we can see Minnie Mouse and Daisy enjoying their time at a French cafe, and Goofy serving up croissants to Donald’s nephews. Of course, the iconic Eiffel Tower is in the background.

Beauty and the Beast really is a “tale as old as time,” and this painting sure is timeless. We love this scene from the film in which Belle and the Beast fall in love. Lumiere and Cogsworth gaze at the couple in wonder, and we can even see Mrs. Potts and Chip off to the side. This painting sure has so many Easter Eggs from the classic Walt Disney Animated film — can you spot them all?
