Why is it you need to worry about the people with disabilities? Disney literally caters hand over foot to families with disabilities. What about the families with multiple small children..now they need to fly with car seats because they’ll need rentals? Seriously the disabled? I think the disabled families will be just fine.. I’ve stood at the bus stop for 45 mins just to have a family of 15 cut in front of my family cuz they rolled up last minute with a guy in a jazzy.. This also greatly effects international park goers the most. Coming from another country usually for multiple weeks with 10-20 people. Those people now have to rent multiple cars and then guess what..pay to park overnight at the resorts….cost of rentals and now parking. That is a crazy expense. And on top of that why is this the final straw for people? They have been taking away services, shows, buffets switched to family style, tens of thousands of people fired, raised prices on everything, no meet an greets..the list goes on and on and on..but yet this is the breaking point??
Wow? Do a quick Google search and see how much has been done to accommodate families with disabilities. So I guess you think its fair for families who pay the exact same prices to be left out in the cold to accommodate a large group because one member is in a jazzy? When Disney starts infringing on other guests experiences to cater to the disabled it leaves a bad taste in your mouth. I say wow to all the ppl wanting stuff for nothing just because they are handicapped. Do you forget the mother trying to sue disney because of her autistic child not liking the fireworks?? Here’s an idea…if your kid can’t handle crowds, loud noises or being “out of their comfort zone” then stay the heck home. Stop wanting the world to conform to your child’s needs. Disney is nailing their own coffin esp with universal making big moves and adding resorts and parks…Disney..they are to busy pandering to different groups to make themselves look good. Splash mountain..rebrand to African American themed movie instead of giving it its own attraction..little Mermaid live action movie..now we have an African American taking the role. Pirates of the Caribbean? Now the 6th installment will have an all new FEMALE cast. Disney panders..pandering kings. But keep buying the crap they are shoveling into your mouth.
Wow you must be a blast at parties. Who would want to go to fisney with a sourness like you anyway? You seem like a straight up JERK who is rather selfish and has no view of the real world
And to you al..I do not surround myself around sheep. My friends and I are of a similar mind set. It might be alarming to you but guess what?..there are still people in this country that know and understand that we are all not equal..especially in this country. It also might surprise you to know that there are still people that can think for themselves and not think how mainstream media and social networks says i should think.. The notion that teaching our children that they are all winners, handing out participation awards as opposed to 1st, 2nd, 3rd place awards..that ridiculous hand holding parenting..its all a joke and does nothing but damage our youth. We are seeing the first wave of these child adults now..snowflake generation. They all want the world and its occupants to cater to their needs..instead of them conforming to how the world actually works. Some got a reality slap in the face with the pandemic..a realization that their own ridiculous needs and wants do not matter in the big picture. This type of mentality has absolutely destroyed this nation.
So.. just wanted to point out that while you’re on your little soap box, the magical express (which also has nothing to do with fireworks shows) is not even the type of bus system that would be delayed or have anyone cut in front of you due to disabilities. So, calm down Tom. If your goal is to keep the ME, why are you fighting against people who want the same thing as you, just maybe for a different reason, or an extra reason?
Nancy..how would you feel after standing out in 90°+ heat in an animal kingdom bust stop for 45 mins. The bus is pulling up but at the same time 1 person in a jazzy comes up to the stop too. They load the disabled person right on and then ask if they have any party members..no joke 17 people then pile onto the bus. So now my group of 14 or w/e it was at this time is now told we have to wait for the next bus because we won’t fit with our strollers and bags. So instead of having the disabled persons party stand in the 60ish min line at this point and then load him on when his party is next to get on they just let 18 people cut off a couple hundred. This makes clear sense to you? Or your opinion on the mother wanting disney to stop fireworks for his autistic son..thoughts?..how about the family that was suing disney because not all bathrooms had chair cranes to hoist their disabled son out of the wheel chair..thoughts on that one? My point i am trying to make is when is enough enough. All these people want everyone else to conform to them.and their specific needs..that seems fair and right to you? If so then you are more delusional than you realize. Oh and the bus example is first hand experience and happened more than once on multiple trips. I pay the same inflated cost that they do but yet receive a clearly different experience. When the experience of other guests is altered and lessened because of the needs of a disabled person it clearly shows you who disney really cares about.
Absolutely. My family has visited the parks two times, and would love to do more if we could afford it. There were multiple instances both times where we had to delay something so a family with a person with a disability could board first, or an attraction/transportation was slowed to accommodate. How small of a human must you be to be incensed by that? We found WDW to be magical, and a big part of that magic was seeing that things paused or shifted to make magic for people that probably have far too little of it.
Mitch…please explain to me why it is ok for them to jump the line in anything when their party can go through the que like the rest of us and then allow the disabled person to get loaded on when their party’s turn is next? How is that simple gesture so difficult for you to understand? We pay just as much as they do. We were in the same hot park that they were. However my party was left to feel as if we are not important enough because we didn’t have a disabled person in our group? I ask how you see the fairness in the clear favoritism that was displayed to one party and not the next. I have even seen bus driver make parents move or get off the bus because a disabled person needs to get on..mind you the next bus was mere minutes away according to the driver so then why make a family with children get off the bus to load a disabled person?..then make that family wait for another bus..if this makes clears sense to you then I am sorry and you are delusional as Nancy there. Oh and way to be a keyboard warrior and not allow replies on your post. Grow a set Mitch.
We typically fly out to disneyworld once a year for a week and a half. We have only ever gone to Disneyworld for the whole trip because we stay on property and use the magical express. Without it, I guess we will rent a car, stay at an AirB&B, and go to Universal as well. Maybe try SeaWorld? Not sure, honestly it is a loss of magic for the Disney experience, but we will probably save money in the long run, and be more inclined to visit other parks.
Mears is still in business. They have shuttles and motorcoaches just like before Magical Express started. Not to worry. It will cost money but less than a cab or Uber or Lyft
It is so Sad that the Magical Express is Ending ,Next Year.I have gone to WDW at least 30x and I am going back in about 60 days.I Love the Magical Express because it saves Me Money and I Do not have to Rent a Car.I Normally Do Not leave Disney Property so I don’t need that car.Plus I Do Not have to touch my luggage until I get to My Room and When I return Home to My Airport. It is So much easier and I Hope that Disney Reconsiders and Changes Their Mind.Sincerely Warren Howard
You keep saying starting next year ,am I wrong ? If I have to go retrieve my own luggage now & bring it to the buses , isn’t it really already stopped ? That’s my understanding.
mike, how do your get your bags TO the airport when you leave for your trip? If you have a secret way of not handling your luggage from your house to the car and from the car to the check in counter at the airport, please share. Is it written somewhere that you are prohibited from handling your own bags or has the plane ride has made you physically unable to handle your bags after you arrive in Orlando? We missed that memo.
I’m 70 yrs. old and walk w/ a cane, because of an accident many years ago. My wife is 74 fighting w/ cancer the last 3 1/2 years. We have still been to WDW 3 times in that period ! We have never used WDW disability perks including scooters though been offered many times. I give up my seat & stand when there are women & children on Disney transportation standing. Our children drop us off at the airport & so not to be a burden we insist on bringing our own baggage & carryons from the car across 2 bus lanes of traffic to curbside luggage pick up. Just sayin ! Comments like yours sadden us. We are lucky, we grew up in a more polite & civilized time. Have a magical day !
So mike, at 70 and 74 years, old with health issues and canes, you are able to cross two bus lanes of traffic with multiple bags at your home airport because you don’t want to “burden your children”? But you can’t retrieve your bags in Orlando. And then complain about it? The truth often stings. Just sayin…Hire a car service that will have someone standing at baggage claim with your name on a sign and will retrieve your luggage and drive you to WDW. Problem solved, in a civilized and polite manner. Age does not always impart wisdom. Hope your next visit to the Magic Kingdom is everything you hope for.
Yes and no.. It no longer complementary, but my father is in a wheelchair and we did just fine hiring a airport shuttle of our own. Plus this was 20+ years ago
We will not be staying in Disney anymore. Very disappointed with the stopping of the Magical Express. It was the start of our vacation. The ease of not having to look for our bags or rent a car only to have to pay for parking in the resort. We will stay outside Disney from now on. It’s cheaper & we aren’t locked into only Disney. Big mistake Disney!
I agree; DME makes the difference! Without DME we will likely stay off-site for our next full-family trip.
Which means we may also stay off-site to save money. Thats 3-4 hotel rooms for 7-8 nights.
It also means we’ll visit Universal as we’ll have rental cars!!!
IF DISNEY CANCELS BUS SERVICE FROM ORLANDO AIRPORT+YOU RENT A CAR ,THE TOURIST TO DISNEY WILL BE GETTING SOCKED WITH PARKING FEES WHILE STAYING ON THEIR PROPERTY.
DISNEY ONLY CARES ABOUT $$$+NOT YOUR ENJOYMENT
We have several children with disabilities and we saved for several years to get the tickets, meal plans, airfare and theme park ticket fun day together and count on the Disney Express to start our vacation. What are the highlights of going to Disney World was counting on the Disney Express to get us from the airport to our Resort and we can stay on Disney property for the two weeks that we plan to be in Orlando. New wrinkle would seriously have us considering the other theme parks in the area if we had to rent vehicles.
Has been such a convenient and wonderful start to all of our magical vacations!! Nothing beats going through those Disney arches with fellow lovers!!! All things change, BUT doesn’t mean I’m happy about it. Not a popular choice with anyone here.
DME has worked in Disney’s favor for years by making families locked in to Disney. They stare Disney properties, they use Disney transportation to get to Disney parks, and they eat at Disney eateries. Without it, I believe more people will stay off property, or even on International Drive to save thousands of dollars. Once you’ve rented a car, you have the freedom to go anywhere. You could go to Universal, you could spend a day or two at the beach, you could go to Port Canaveral. But you wouldn’t be dedicated to Disney. Now, there are some of us that will still stay at Disney properties, and still only go to Disney Parks, but my guess is that for those of us who have only gone to Disney parks for years, this might give us the opportunity to head over to Universal to check out Hogwarts. It will be less expensive for families, and Disney will save money or they won’t. My guess is they won’t lose anyone.
I was wondering for frequent visitors or Orlando locals, how easy it is to get an Uber or Lyft from the airport to WDW resort hotels? And how much is the trip (Uber X)? And also if anyone knows the price of a shared shuttle would be nice?
UberX and Lyft run around $25 to $30 from MCO to WDW. There are signs that say “Ride App Pickup” on Level 2 (baggage claim), look outside for station #1 and #14 and keep an eye on the Uber app for your ride. There are a number of ride services available you can book online. Super Shuttle offered shared rides to WDW for around $20 per person or a dedicated shuttle van for $80. We found that other than grabbing our own luggage, (yes, it’s the same luggage we toted from our house to the car and from the car to the parking lot shuttle and from the shuttle to the check in counter at our home airport, doesn’t everyone do that?) Uber is much faster and more convenient than the ME. You go direct to your resort, no stopping at other resorts like the ME did when we used it. You have your bags so you don’t wait for your luggage to be delivered to your room, which sometimes took hours. We go to Disney World to enjoy the resort and Parks, not to wait for a bus. Now we’re unpacked and out enjoying the Parks or the pool before others from our same flight have arrived at the resort. We can watch Mickey cartoons at home versus a 12 inch screen on a bus. After spending considerable $$$ to stay at a Disney Resort, $30 for an Uber that gets us another hour or two of on-site enjoyment is well worth it. We’ll spend $12 on a souvenir popcorn bucket? You’ll drop $20 for a refillable soda mug and $25 on a set of Mickey Ears. That “free” bus ride isn’t really free. How much is your time worth?
LYFT xl is roughly 40 or more 1 way to Disney area. I own a timeshare and it’s roughly 40 bucks plus tip 1 way. Then we LYFT from timeshare to parks. Depending on length of drive we pay roughly 10 bucks 1 way to each park. So it just about equals paying to park at the park. Plus they drop you a lot closer to the entrance. Very convienent especially now there is no trams running in parking lots. U could have a long walk if u drive just to get into one of the Disney parks.
Plz do not cancel Disney magical express you are taking the magical experience away ,so many thing has changed there makes no sense, for example Down town Disney its boring, clubs gone ,you need to bring back exciting functions to wake up the night life, bring back the forth of july parade with the dancer, cause down town Disney is Dead, folks comes to Disney to have magical time not to bord
Increased costs, normal increased profits Greed
Now parking charged
Then you get rid of magic Express?
I guess if people keep coming but please bring it back.
It will get to the point that folks will stop coming but maybe that’s what you want
I was excited for the train but then learned it goes to Disney Springs. I don’t want to lug my bags all over Disney Springs in search of transportation to my resort after a long day of travel. Maybe if they picked up your luggage at the airport kind of like they used to and dropped them off at the resort then the train would be advantageous. But if carrying my luggage all over. Nope. Not so magical.
I am older person and this service has made it so easy to travel . I have been doing Disney for 31 years and have introduced my family now to Disney because of this service. And we all love it and appreciate it. When you have children and luggage the best way to go .
BESIDES BEING CHARGED FOR PARKING ON WDW PROPERTY,THE ONLY GOOD THING ABOUT CAR RENTALS IS THAT YOU CAN GO OFF
THE PROPERTY+TRAVEL TO OTHER FUN THINGS LIKE UNIVERSAL STUDIOS OR UNIVERSAL DRIVE.THERE IS SO MUCH TO SEE+DO+I
FIND IT A GREAT WAY TO VACATION
Part of the magic of Disney was being able to get off the plane at Orlando and look for the waving white glove. Then you get on the bus and your vacation starts!!! The bus drivers are all super nice, you sing songs all the way to the resort, you don’t have to struggle with luggage. THAT was PURE MAGIC. Now you cancel the Magical Express and explain how people prefer Ubers. Are you kidding me? I’ve never used an Uber in my life and I’m NOT going to rent a car and pay daily parking. Not happening. Disney is an expensive trip, even if you’re lucky enough to score a discount of some type. We spend plenty while there. Disney is operating out of pure GREED. We go to Disney every year (except 2020) and I know we won’t be going back unless the Magical Express takes us there.
Maybe losing $2.4 Billion (with a B) dollars in the 4th quarter of 2020 (that is just the Theme Parks Division in one quarter) has something to do with the announcement? Disney’s quarterly and annual reports are available online if you want to learn more and educate yourself. Things change when you are bleeding cash. I suspect that Disney will announce an alternative to the ME at some point. They are in the business of making money and to do that they need to keep their guests happy. The alternative may not be “free”, but nothing is really free at Disney. It’s “included” in the price you pay to go to the happiest place on earth. 🙂
I have 3 children and two still require seats for a vehicle. The last time we went there was 6 of us there and with three kids with their carry ones plus the 2 large luggage bags and the adults had carryons it was a lot to lug around. It saved so much time with children to not have to worry about luggage claim and for the kids to ride the magical express to start their vacation as it was all our first time there for a week!
It’s not just about transport. It’s about being in a Disney Bubble when you arrive which is how they originally promoted it. This also removes resort luggage service and the time usually saved from standing at the baggage carousels. Bad move Disney. This service set you apart and now with more cost effective options and removal of landmark offerings you risk turning off even your most dedicated customers.
Disney management is cutting the expense of the many perks the EVC and parks guests received in the past. It appears the Disney Parks business is being structured for sale … possibly in 2022.
The Disney Magic has been damaged significantly, and currently there is no longer any incentive for even planning a vacation to WDW unless you want to stand in lines most of your day.
The cost of an on-site Disney World Vacation is just no longer worth it. There are many other vacation sites in the US that are one-third the cost of a trip to Disney World.
I am a longtime WDW supporter & visitor. I understand everyone’s frustration. Let me just say the following, hopefully without causing a major uprising. I totally agree that the Magical Express service should NOT be discontinued. Whether traveling alone or with a family, i consider eliminating this service to be a major problem. For those who have negative feelings re: individuals w/disabilities let me just say the Federal Govt requires reasonable accommodations for those who qualify. Yes, they get on the bus first. However, Disney’s recent policy has been to allow 1 other person to board with them (such as husband or wife). The days of allowing a whole gaggle of family members on board are gone. Even those in a wheelchair are not always able to get on the bus. If the handicap “seats” are already taken by other wheelchairs they must wait for the next bus while the rest of the non-disabled guests get to board with multiple strollers and more. Disabled individuals, whom I have encountered, wish they could stand in line with you, walk the parks, ride all the attractions, especially the children. Eliminating the Magical Express will be a MAJOR INCONVENIENCE for all resort guests. Tickets keep going up, food & beverage prices on the increase & other cutbacks have changed the overall experience. Doing away with this transportation service is a BAD decision, MAJOR inconvenience, FINANCIAL hardship for guests and a possible DETERRENT for future visitors. In closing… no one knows when something may happen to cause you or someone you love to become disabled. I know there are always some who take advantage, but it is unfair to group them all together. I have seen worse with some people from outside the U.S. who, as an example, have 1 or 2 people waiting in line whether it be for a bus, attraction, parade, fireworks & then 15-20 show up & join them.
But the funny thing is you’re pissed because they’re pandering to somebody else not you. Also god forbid you have to wait an extra 15 minutes for another bus. If it bothers you so much, uber and lyft are great options. How small of a man you must be, give me one reason having an African-American little mermaid is a problem, did it hurt you? If your triggered this hard because a black mermaid you are 1000% the snowflake you claim others to bee
You are obviously missing the point. Others have seen this and I am sorry that you feel the need to think the way you do. #metoo happens..star wars then gets headed by a female who had no right running the new film series..she got the job because disney wanted to be inclusive..what happened?..The movies were a bust and were the center of alot of controversy..gender confused characters needed to be added to the story line..nope..but they wanted to be inclusive to the lgbtq communtiy..blm happens..they then want to rebrand splash mountain..because of a 60+ year old movie and its racial undertones. The ride of which had nothing to do with the original story as it only used the animal characters. But they rebrand it to princess and the frog..why? To be inclusive to the African American community. As far as the little mermaid…well let’s see..Ariel was pale white with bright red hair..the only princess with red hair for the longest time. A character that my sister and my wife for that matter had a fond connection with because they are both pale and have red hair. As many pale blonde girls and women connect with Cinderella..or brunette connecting with Belle. I am sorry that you do not see the problem with changing and completely rewriting characters just so certain groups feel included. Doing that in of itself is prejudice..not only against the character and its fans but against the group they are trying to cater to. Disney panders. Disney tries to stay politically correct and in doing so they alienate some of their hard-core fans who spend ALOT of money on Disney IP and vacations. Im not talking about the people who stay at Disney in the value resorts and try to do it as cheap as they can..however that is who Disney pander to. The “snowflake” generation are the ones to blame. They are the ones who go online and say this isn’t fair. Do I want Disney to cater to me? No and when did I say that? I stated that disabled ppl should have their party wait in line like the rest of us. Is that asking for special treatment? Is asking that everyone wait their turn too much to ask? And as stated by someone on here they have already fixed the issue that I was talking about by only allowing 1 or 2 members on with them. I still believe that those 1 or 2 members should have to stand in line like the rest of us and then get boarded when it is their turn. There is no reason a person in a wheelchair cannot sit off to the side of the cue and wait. There is also no reason for them to be loaded on as soon as the next bus comes whether or not handicapped spots are available. There are people standing outside holding kids, bags, strollers ect that can use those seats while the disabled persons party walks through the que. And I’ll ask you the same thing I’ve asked everyone with a different point of view. Mother tries to sue Disney for fireworks being to loud for her autistic son..and family trying to sue for chair lifts not being in all restrooms in all the parks..resorts..and restaurants…examples of people wanting Disney to cater even further to their rare children needs..so I guess you think both of those examples are fair too…I truly am sorry that you cannot see the big picture and what it is Disney is truly doing. Pandering to certain groups to make more money..off of those certain groups..they play on the emotions and current social tides to twist their narrative to seem like the all inclusive company. Its a joke and more people see things in my perspective than they do yours.
I love when people like to cherry pick something out of a whole paragraph..to fit their narrative. As pat stated above disney has fixed the issue with allowing groups with disabled members to abuse the ada and have the WHOLE party board. The reason Disney made the change..well I’m guessing they were receiving a ton of backlash from situations just like my family was found in. I ask you Matt where do you see the fairness in what used to be an acceptable practice for parties with disabled members. You feel because someone rents a jazzy(which no medical reason is needed to get one) so that they may jump lines..have large parties skip lines..use the ada to get passes for rides..or exit ramp loading. Please explain to me the fairness in having people standing outside for almost an hour only to be passed up by a group who did not wait in the same line and was automatically loaded onto the bus..not only in front of my family but upwards of 200 other people. The fairness that I was highlighting is those same groups of people trying to get disney and others to conform to them. Once again as I’ve said to others I am sorry that you fail to see things from outside the box..I can see that mass media and social media thought conditions has done its job with you. Congrats good sir.
Ha! Too true. Fortunately time heals all wounds. I have a feeling some people (and more people who see things in their perspective) will have to face some hard truths soon. For the rest of us, welcome to the happiest and most magical places on earth! We’re happy to have you (the folks who don’t mind you kids on our lawn, don’t think anyone needs to pull their dang pants up, never mention “back in my day,” and realize that the choice of casting for a mythical creature doesn’t make any of us less relevant to the conversation, but our own pig-headed ideas just might.)
No you’re right man. Rewriting history(or stories) to better reflect the current political climate in our country makes so much sense. Pandering to certain groups to increase the cashflow from said groups..yeah no nothing sketchy about those business practices at all. All female cast for Pirates 6..yeah that will flop just as hard as universal’s all female cast reboot of the Ghostbusters was a huge hit right? Hollywood as well as Disney has been doing this for forever. They have a true and proven formula(or franchise) and then they ruin them to conform to the social norms of the day. What happens when they do this? It fails..immensely. History has told and shown us that pandering doesn’t work in the long run. It puts a uick bandaid on current issues..issues that Hollywood and Disney didn’t care about until social media movements. They do not care about these groups they pander too..just like they don’t care about their overall fan base. They only care about your money and how many ways they can figure out how to separate you from it. However now more and more people are privy to Disney and what they stand for. So go ahead and look at the changes Disney makes to casts and roles as progress..when in reality its all a cash grab and a chance for them to say loud and proud who they stand up for…lmao its honestly a joke and you people who fall for it hand over fist are just as much of a joke..and one side note..imagine if historically black roles with white actors..or a female lead role switched to a man..oh imagine the backlash then. Live action Princess Tiana role being given to say Lindsay Lohan…lol imagine the uproar from the African American community then. You don’t even have to imagine it because people shame actors who wear fat suits for roles and say they should have casted an actual heavy person for the role…so yeah..there would be backlash. But it’s perfectly wrong for people to be upset when its the reverse situation.hmm?
But hey at least thanks for agreeing with me that Disney was indeed pandering to disabled..at least in my situation. Now go ahead and look at the dozens of other examples of how Disney caters to certain groups..you’ll be surprised at how much you actually find…
Usually travel alone to meet my adult daughters in Disney and never needed to worry about transportation and not being safe
Now there will be a bit of concern. I believe it’s a mistake to cancel the magical express
Point taken Jake ! As a matter of fact we are being met by a private car service this year lol. Maybe we just are old & don’t like the many WDW changes and cuts over the last decade. You should have seen WDW at Xmas time way back when lol. Live it large Jake it’s a short dance .
Where do I sign this petition? We LOVE the Magical Express, the luggage check in and airport check in upon leaving. Takes that much more stress out of the vacation. Boo to you Disney, please reconsider. (Also, dining plans again, please!!)
Disney is not magical any more no bus service when they charge so much for every thing ,take away season passes, take away meal plans
there is. no value to going anymore when everything is over priced. we will never go back
I visit Disney at least 2 times a year. I rely on the magical express to get to and from Disney. Now I dont know how I will get there. I dont want to drive a car on my trip and we bring lots of luggage. So we can’t use a taxi. This will put an added expense in our budget. I hope Disney comes up with a good solution..
Man, how sad must your life be to spend the day going off about how much you hate the disabled, making sure you make it clear you mean both those with mental and physical disabilities, and historically oppressed people. Somebody needs a hug (and a valium or two) ?
Yikes. I have a “Tom” of my own down the street. Every time he walks out the door and speaks, I can feel my property value drop. We have such an attractive neighborhood, but he scares all the best prospective buyers away! I have a feeling tomorrow he’ll be in rare (or in his case not so rare) conspiracy theory screaming form (sigh)
My idea of staying on disney property it was a perk to have a bus pick you up at the airport and take to the disney hotel. Using the bus made it so convenient to step out your hotel and get on a bus. My mother uses a scooter thru out the trip and it was wonderful to have a bus service with the scooter lift and nice bus drivers to put it on. When its time to leave to have the tickets and luggage on the bus was great. Now what is the sense of staying on disney property anymore. I can save money now and stay off the property.
Bring it back!!
It’s the most convenient transportation to everyone!!
They have amazing drivers and staff!!
With all this going on, you would expect to go above and beyond, not bringing down someone’s hope who wants to go to Disney!!
Some people rely on the transportation to get from point A to point B!!
Please reconsider and stay!! I’ve always had the best service with Magical Express!!
I will miss the free Magical Express. It was a nice perk. But as a West Coaster, we are used to paying for the Disney sanctioned transportation to and from the airport. It never was free. I will bite the bullet and pay for it at WDW too.
The Disney Magic Express is a HUGE reason to stay at Disney. I can literally start relaxing as soon as I get off the Plane. I don’t have to go to baggage claim, I don’t have to find transportation, I don’t have to deal with transporting my bags. I just step off the Plane and go to the Magic Express area. My bags are delivered directly to my room. On the way back I can check my bags at the resort , get on the bus, and head to the security checkpoint. I have stayed at Disney a number of times and the Magic Express is on of the Main reasons. The Magic Express not only promotes but DELIVERS the stated Disney objective of WELCOME HOME. The service distinguishes Disney from Universal Studios. I’ve heard that there are plans for a train from the Airport to Disney, which I do NOT feel is an acceptable option. If I still have to go to baggage claim, put my bags on a Bus, etc. It’s NO Help. I have persuaded a lot of friends, etc. to stay at Disney based on the Disney Magic Express Experience. I think it’s a HUGE Mistake for Disney to discontinue this service. I STRONGLY recommend Disney Reconsider.

This will make it extremely difficult for those with disabilities who rely on this service. I urge Disney to think about this seriously.
Tom
Dave
Wow ?
Tom
AL
Wow you must be a blast at parties. Who would want to go to fisney with a sourness like you anyway? You seem like a straight up JERK who is rather selfish and has no view of the real world
Tom
Paul
Trumpster moron?
amandaAmanda
So.. just wanted to point out that while you’re on your little soap box, the magical express (which also has nothing to do with fireworks shows) is not even the type of bus system that would be delayed or have anyone cut in front of you due to disabilities. So, calm down Tom. If your goal is to keep the ME, why are you fighting against people who want the same thing as you, just maybe for a different reason, or an extra reason?
Also, you suck as a human being.
nancy bernreuter
There is nothing to say to a person in this mindset. Let’s hope he never has a disability. As a Florian please stay home
Tom
Mitch
Tom
Tyler
We typically fly out to disneyworld once a year for a week and a half. We have only ever gone to Disneyworld for the whole trip because we stay on property and use the magical express. Without it, I guess we will rent a car, stay at an AirB&B, and go to Universal as well. Maybe try SeaWorld? Not sure, honestly it is a loss of magic for the Disney experience, but we will probably save money in the long run, and be more inclined to visit other parks.
Tom
Yes!..my point exactly..they are too politically aligned!
Mike
??Before it tanks.
Robert
Where are you getting your news? Don’t let what you’re being told change what you enjoy.
John
Magic Express is a HUGE reason I stay on property, please do NOT eliminate it.
Jessica Hercules
They are taking away the Magical Express (the bus from the airport to the resorts) not the buses to the parks. Calm down Karen.
Carol
Mears is still in business. They have shuttles and motorcoaches just like before Magical Express started. Not to worry. It will cost money but less than a cab or Uber or Lyft

It is so Sad that the Magical Express is Ending ,Next Year.I have gone to WDW at least 30x and I am going back in about 60 days.I Love the Magical Express because it saves Me Money and I Do not have to Rent a Car.I Normally Do Not leave Disney Property so I don’t need that car.Plus I Do Not have to touch my luggage until I get to My Room and When I return Home to My Airport. It is So much easier and I Hope that Disney Reconsiders and Changes Their Mind.Sincerely Warren Howard
steve jenney
I happen to agree. I don’t mind an immediate family.
But all to often people abuse the system
Glenn Hepworth
Magical express was one of the things that made disney vacations extra special. You were treated like a v.i.p. even before you left your house.
Jennie Duncan
I agree.
Dawn M Thomas
You are so very right.
C. Shultz
I’ve used the bus service many times. Can’t imagine the confusion at the airport with this change. Please reconsider!
mike
You keep saying starting next year ,am I wrong ? If I have to go retrieve my own luggage now & bring it to the buses , isn’t it really already stopped ? That’s my understanding.
Jake
mike, how do your get your bags TO the airport when you leave for your trip? If you have a secret way of not handling your luggage from your house to the car and from the car to the check in counter at the airport, please share. Is it written somewhere that you are prohibited from handling your own bags or has the plane ride has made you physically unable to handle your bags after you arrive in Orlando? We missed that memo.
mike
I’m 70 yrs. old and walk w/ a cane, because of an accident many years ago.
Jake
Phillip Turrell
These guests always want what’s free 38 years of seeing it stop bitching get in a taxi and you’ll be okay you can even do a uber and Lyft
Beth
Yes and no.. It no longer complementary, but my father is in a wheelchair and we did just fine hiring a airport shuttle of our own. Plus this was 20+ years ago
Grace
We will not be staying in Disney anymore. Very disappointed with the stopping of the Magical Express. It was the start of our vacation. The ease of not having to look for our bags or rent a car only to have to pay for parking in the resort. We will stay outside Disney from now on. It’s cheaper & we aren’t locked into only Disney. Big mistake Disney!
Mike
How were you ever locked into “only disney”
Lana Kipp
Do not cancel magic express.
Alice
I agree; DME makes the difference! Without DME we will likely stay off-site for our next full-family trip.
Which means we may also stay off-site to save money. Thats 3-4 hotel rooms for 7-8 nights.
It also means we’ll visit Universal as we’ll have rental cars!!!
FRANK E POTOCNIK
IF DISNEY CANCELS BUS SERVICE FROM ORLANDO AIRPORT+YOU RENT A CAR ,THE TOURIST TO DISNEY WILL BE GETTING SOCKED WITH PARKING FEES WHILE STAYING ON THEIR PROPERTY.
DISNEY ONLY CARES ABOUT $$$+NOT YOUR ENJOYMENT
Husi Cazares
We have several children with disabilities and we saved for several years to get the tickets, meal plans, airfare and theme park ticket fun day together and count on the Disney Express to start our vacation. What are the highlights of going to Disney World was counting on the Disney Express to get us from the airport to our Resort and we can stay on Disney property for the two weeks that we plan to be in Orlando. New wrinkle would seriously have us considering the other theme parks in the area if we had to rent vehicles.
Indy
Mears has already said they would be continuing the service, but there would now be a fee. What the price would be was not yet indicated.
Beth
That’s what we always used in the past
Kim
Has been such a convenient and wonderful start to all of our magical vacations!! Nothing beats going through those Disney arches with fellow lovers!!! All things change, BUT doesn’t mean I’m happy about it. Not a popular choice with anyone here.
Disneyaddict1973
This is not a good idea, #Disneyparks. People with cars, leave the property.
Jennie Duncan
Kip
I was wondering for frequent visitors or Orlando locals, how easy it is to get an Uber or Lyft from the airport to WDW resort hotels? And how much is the trip (Uber X)? And also if anyone knows the price of a shared shuttle would be nice?
Evan
Steven Crozier
LYFT xl is roughly 40 or more 1 way to Disney area. I own a timeshare and it’s roughly 40 bucks plus tip 1 way. Then we LYFT from timeshare to parks. Depending on length of drive we pay roughly 10 bucks 1 way to each park. So it just about equals paying to park at the park. Plus they drop you a lot closer to the entrance. Very convienent especially now there is no trams running in parking lots. U could have a long walk if u drive just to get into one of the Disney parks.
Alpha
Plz do not cancel Disney magical express you are taking the magical experience away ,so many thing has changed there makes no sense, for example Down town Disney its boring, clubs gone ,you need to bring back exciting functions to wake up the night life, bring back the forth of july parade with the dancer, cause down town Disney is Dead, folks comes to Disney to have magical time not to bord
Ron
Increased costs, normal increased profits Greed
Now parking charged
Then you get rid of magic Express?
I guess if people keep coming but please bring it back.
It will get to the point that folks will stop coming but maybe that’s what you want
Margarita marcano
No way please dont I’ve yet to have another great experience
Ashley
Disney is making a big boo boo
Stephen
Take the train. It’s coming.
Goofy
I was excited for the train but then learned it goes to Disney Springs. I don’t want to lug my bags all over Disney Springs in search of transportation to my resort after a long day of travel. Maybe if they picked up your luggage at the airport kind of like they used to and dropped them off at the resort then the train would be advantageous. But if carrying my luggage all over. Nope. Not so magical.
JoAnn
I am older person and this service has made it so easy to travel . I have been doing Disney for 31 years and have introduced my family now to Disney because of this service. And we all love it and appreciate it. When you have children and luggage the best way to go .
FRANK E POTOCNIK
BESIDES BEING CHARGED FOR PARKING ON WDW PROPERTY,THE ONLY GOOD THING ABOUT CAR RENTALS IS THAT YOU CAN GO OFF
THE PROPERTY+TRAVEL TO OTHER FUN THINGS LIKE UNIVERSAL STUDIOS OR UNIVERSAL DRIVE.THERE IS SO MUCH TO SEE+DO+I
FIND IT A GREAT WAY TO VACATION
Virginia Woych
Tad
Mandy
I have 3 children and two still require seats for a vehicle. The last time we went there was 6 of us there and with three kids with their carry ones plus the 2 large luggage bags and the adults had carryons it was a lot to lug around. It saved so much time with children to not have to worry about luggage claim and for the kids to ride the magical express to start their vacation as it was all our first time there for a week!
Lauren Bell
It’s not just about transport. It’s about being in a Disney Bubble when you arrive which is how they originally promoted it. This also removes resort luggage service and the time usually saved from standing at the baggage carousels. Bad move Disney. This service set you apart and now with more cost effective options and removal of landmark offerings you risk turning off even your most dedicated customers.
Bob
Disney management is cutting the expense of the many perks the EVC and parks guests received in the past. It appears the Disney Parks business is being structured for sale … possibly in 2022.
The Disney Magic has been damaged significantly, and currently there is no longer any incentive for even planning a vacation to WDW unless you want to stand in lines most of your day.
The cost of an on-site Disney World Vacation is just no longer worth it. There are many other vacation sites in the US that are one-third the cost of a trip to Disney World.
Marge
Noooo! This is part of the whole Disney experience!
Grace

Mike
But the funny thing is you’re pissed because they’re pandering to somebody else not you. Also god forbid you have to wait an extra 15 minutes for another bus. If it bothers you so much, uber and lyft are great options. How small of a man you must be, give me one reason having an African-American little mermaid is a problem, did it hurt you? If your triggered this hard because a black mermaid you are 1000% the snowflake you claim others to bee
Tom
Matt
“They are the ones who go online and say this isn’t fair.”
Hmm…
Tom
Neil
Ha!
Tom
Tom
But hey at least thanks for agreeing with me that Disney was indeed pandering to disabled..at least in my situation. Now go ahead and look at the dozens of other examples of how Disney caters to certain groups..you’ll be surprised at how much you actually find…
Mrio transportes e turismo
stop crying and get the uber.???????
jerilyn a benham
Usually travel alone to meet my adult daughters in Disney and never needed to worry about transportation and not being safe
Now there will be a bit of concern. I believe it’s a mistake to cancel the magical express
mike
Point taken Jake ! As a matter of fact we are being met by a private car service this year lol. Maybe we just are old & don’t like the many WDW changes and cuts over the last decade. You should have seen WDW at Xmas time way back when lol. Live it large Jake it’s a short dance .

Where do I sign this petition? We LOVE the Magical Express, the luggage check in and airport check in upon leaving. Takes that much more stress out of the vacation. Boo to you Disney, please reconsider. (Also, dining plans again, please!!)
David Snowden
Disney is not magical any more no bus service when they charge so much for every thing ,take away season passes, take away meal plans
there is. no value to going anymore when everything is over priced. we will never go back
Pame S Sayler
I visit Disney at least 2 times a year. I rely on the magical express to get to and from Disney. Now I dont know how I will get there. I dont want to drive a car on my trip and we bring lots of luggage. So we can’t use a taxi. This will put an added expense in our budget. I hope Disney comes up with a good solution..
Ana
Please don’t get rid of this service so convenient
JD
Man, how sad must your life be to spend the day going off about how much you hate the disabled, making sure you make it clear you mean both those with mental and physical disabilities, and historically oppressed people. Somebody needs a hug (and a valium or two) ?
Stevie Hughes
I’m pretty sure it’s a troll. Nobody’s actually THAT awful.
Ben
Nah, Tom lives down the street and yes, he is that awful.
Ted
Brian Sylvester
I have a disability and do not drive, this would strip so much of the magic away for me. Please keep this service
Sandra M Neuberg
