The Orlando Business Journal interviewed Jeff Swirsky — a general manager overseeing four of the new hotels being built at Flamingo Crossings — and we can now get an idea of how Disney’s Flamingo Crossings is planning to be successful in its opening as the pandemic continues to hinder tourism.
Jeff told the Orlando Business Journal that he anticipated many travelers to come from neighboring states to Florida:
People will begin traveling longer distances once there’s widespread access to a vaccine. For now, we are focusing on Orlando’s drive markets. We’ve already seen bookings from guests across Florida; Atlanta; Birmingham, Alabama; Nashville, Tennessee, and others within driving distance. We look forward to welcoming guests from near and far as safely as possible.
Jeff went on to say that focusing on health and safety for both hotel guests and workers will help create appeal for those wishing to stay. Ensuring that while they are waiting for a vaccine to help boost the industry, they are turning to safe practices to usher in a safe opening of their hotel properties.
While the hotels at Flamingo Crossings are open, the retail and dining options are still under construction. We will continue to give updates about this massive new complex. Subscribe to our newsletter below for the most up to date information!
