No! Not Florida. Disneyworld is already humongous. Part of Disneyland’s appeal in the smaller venue. Soooo much more magical. If they want to move thing come to Nevada. That way there will still be a western Disney park.

    Kathy,

I don’t think you completely understood what the article actually said. They are not talking about opening/relocating a theme park. They are talking about relocating corporate/administrative offices.

Thanks for that info. I just saw the article and I live in Whittier a half hour away from Anaheim

I think they should move. Don’t give this state one more penny. This beautiful place is being destroyed.

California is taxing companies like Disney to the maximum. I would expect them to move to Florida by the end of 2021. Newsom has made himself a thorn in Disney’s side.

Ya that makes sense. Don’t tax the companies making billions of dollars. I’d much rather pay higher taxes being a typical middle class income bracket!!!!

      1. Sybil

The company is losing billions of dollars. Newsom is an idiot. What don’t you understand?

How is he an idiot? How are you smarter? What’s your background in politics and public health that makes you know more?

          1. Rock

He’s demonstrably an idiot because his actions are forcing companies out of the state. The proof is in the pudding.

“Increasingly difficult relationship with California”… because they won’t let you open an amusement park during a pandemic? Yeah, I’d hope not.

As if those “billion $” companies aren’t already paying their fair share of taxes! I love this liberal demise for large successful companies like Disney that employ hundreds of thousands of people. You seem to ignore the fact that companies making “billions” provide millions of the very middle class jobs you refer to. And yes, they have a choice of selecting where to base their operations.

You do understand that, when you over-tax and over-regulate these “evil corporations”, they leave… and you and your government that can’t figure out how to stop spending more of your money are left holding the bag.

These jobs will be welcome here in Florida with open arms, low taxes, and a respect for basic freedoms.

It is absolutely insane how many are moving here from high-tax nanny states. Or is it?

Expect Disneyland to be closed for the next year at least..
After that a POV, Proof of Vaccination will be required for entry..

I say this as a native Californian, and it pains me but, this state had it coming. Gavin Newsom has been absolutely useless during this health crisis. The state is completely unfriendly to business and the cost of living here is through the roof. Heaven help the millennials who are just starting out in being able to find a decent paying job, paying exorbitant rent or a mortgage and then have anything left to save for any kind of emergency.

Hardly surprising. Quite a few large companies who can, are in the process of moving out of the state. I just feel sorry for the small businesses who don’t have that option and are being driven to bankruptcy. All those families being impacted with job losses. It is a real shame.

Come to Louisiana as initially planned years ago in the 1950’s. There is a great site, Six Flags property. There would be visitors from all over. It would be a successful adventure since New Orleans is a great tourous town.

Morgan – they are not moving a theme park. They are thinking of moving some administrative offices and such. It would make a lot of sense to come to Orlando as they already have a ton of office space and could just expand off of that.

About 15 years ago Disney moved some administrative operations from Florida to California. This just means they are moving some back!!!!

I have worked for Disneyland for 46 years first as a ticket sell for a year and in finance until now. For the last twenty years Disney has been moving departments to Florida. The last five years much of my work has been moved to Florida. I was furloughed in late November and probably will be laid off. Aside from the company moving many Disneyland finance jobs to Florida it looks like they will be moving possibly many corporate positions from Burbank. The parks will remain in California hopefully for a long time. I do blame Newsom for corporate jobs possibly going to Florida. If this does happen many cast members including myself will loose our jobs permanently. Newsom has been very unfair to theme parks.

Newsom is a total idiot that is destroying California!

  12. Rick

Not surprised. Although these are just administrative positions, many companies are already fleeing California and moving to southern/southeast states. The only thing that still makes California even somewhat appealing is the weather. That’s about it

Unlike you demonicRATS, hose of us who have a brain know how to stop and reverse this apocalyptic exodus! Hahahahaha whine on you filthy liberal commie freeloading rags!
