  1. Team Ahsoka!

George Lucas is jealous because he didn’t create Ahsoka Tano, one of the most beloved figures in Star Wars. He ruined the franchise, handed it off to more gifted people who made it greater than he ever could. No wonder he wants Ahsoka dead. He’d probably kill Din and Grogu if he could. He should just take a back seat and let the REAL fans, including Dave Filoni, do their thing.

    1. Ummm. . . .

It was Lucas’ vision that brought Star Wars to life, so while I think he stumbled with the prequels, I don’t think he “ruined” Star Wars because it wouldn’t exist without him. And while I think the animated Star Wars material has been ground-breaking and amazing, I’ve found Disney’s big screen efforts to be lackluster and redundant (with the notable exception of Rogue One, which was well-plotted and well-acted). Also, since the prequels (obviously) precede the original trilogy, nothing that happens in them undermines the original trilogy whereas the sequel trilogy does undermine the original trilogy for many.

That being said, I get that some people love the new films, and that’s great; there’s room in the world for different opinions and perspectives. But I really don’t think you can say Lucas ruined the franchise because it wouldn’t exist without him.

      1. Shaun

Not for nothing but the prequels, which I never had hard feelings for like some, have REALLY grown on me over the years. Too the point that revenge of the sith is my favorite movie now

        1. JistJessee

The Prequels are an entirely different series when viewed in light of what the animated shows were able to provide (context, story arcs, character development, etc.)

      2. Evan

George has only ever done good work under someone else’s heel. the original trilogy is proof of that. he was always beholden to a studio and those who paid for his movies back then. then as soon as he is given free reign and can finance himself, we get the prequels. he needs people to tell him no and to reign in his dumber ideas.

    2. Odinsatanas

Haha pretty much. George is a hack. He’s still bitter people didn’t like Jar Jar. He got a massive ego over the years thinking he singlehandedly created star wars and took full control for the prequels.. but it was a group effort, and editing saved A New Hope from being terrible. He had some good ideas but he’s a terrible director and editor. Now he’s just bitter people are making way better use of his properties haha. with clone wars, the only good prequel era thing. And mandalorian, the show that actually saved star wars after Rian Johnson nearly killed it with last jedi. He’s just a businessman sad he’s no longer relevant.

      1. Zpe

Rian Johnson didn’t nearly kill it, that was the rise of Skywalker’s
ridiculous choices that did that. Palpatine should have never come back and Rey being is granddaughter made that fact ten times worse than anything the last jedi pulled.

        1. Evan

Rise of Skywalker was a result of Rian Johnson’s screw-up. There was a plan for the sequels and Rian threw that plan out the window. Rise of Skywalker’s decisions were made because they had to course correct thanks to Rian.

      2. El Bearsidente

The Mandoline saved nothing. It’s just a cliche-laden trope-fest that only succeeds because the rest of Disney Wars is an abyss of garbage.

    3. Pj

Ahsoka Tano may be loved by the majority but I personally thought of her as a character for the kid viewers that was taking up screen time from the movie established characters on clone wars, especially in the final season.

      1. Joe

We already know the story of the movie characters, though. What is the point in the final season if we already know what happens to Anakin and Obi Wan in RotS? Besides, she is important for Anakin’s character development and descent to the dark side. Not to mention how she is a good and complex character on her own that goes from a bratty little girl to a very brave force user.

      2. Carmine

Wait, you sort of lost me. How was she taking up screen time from the main movie established characters? That doesn’t make sense considering we know what happened to the main movie characters during Order 66. Why revist that again? Ahsoka’s story tied in extremely well during the last season as she discovers that the Jedi weren’t as great as she was brought up to believe. She was very wise going into rebels and now the Mandalorian we see her going after Thrawn. They did very good with her tbh.

      3. Evan

that may have been the case at first when she was introduced, but as was the case with the show itself, she grew up and became a fan favorite even among older fans.

    4. Logan

Um you realize George Lucas worked with filoni the entire time during the clone wars and was the one that brought filoni on board lmao

      1. Evan

thats probably why it was so successful. George does his best work when he has people willing to challenge him and reign him in whenever he has another Jar Jar level idea. Filoni was that person. and seeing what Filoni is capable of doing, makes me think star wars may have a better future in his hands and out of the hands of George.

    5. Kathleen "dropped the ball" Kennedy

Ummm George Lucas was still around when clone wars came out tho lol. It didn’t get handed out till a little later. He didn’t ruin star wars at all lol. I can see him being jealous of ahsokas success but come on now. Say what you want about the prequels the Disney trilogy was far worse. Ahsoka wouldn’t have existed had he not done the prequels too. :/

    6. Dennis R. Hicks

It’s appropriate” considering that Ahsoka isn’t in George’s second (live-action) trilogy, where she should be. Fore if she were” her later involvement in The Franchise would’ve been concrete.

    7. James

Lol she was co-created by Lucas and Filoni.

    8. El Bearsidente

What gifted people? Filoni is a hack who only functions in Star Wars if someone looks over his shoulder. Left to his own devices he comes up with garbage like time travel gates in Jedi temples and having Thrawn defeated by space whales.

Ahsoka is a trash character, spawned from a very bad TV show. Din and Grogu aren’t characters, they’re cardboard cutouts in a “show” that only runs on appeals to nostalgia, ‘memberberries and flat out copying from vastly superior creations.

  2. Pdxrising

I will never bad mouth George Lucas.. I don’t believe you can diminish his contribution/nore should you… I’m decidedly on board with the direction the franchise is currently taking… After meeting Ahsoka Tano in clone wars & now mandalorian…I wouldn’t want a starwars franchise without her… Second generation viewer & proud to share my deep love for the narrative that is the force…

    1. tikhon

Like many, I was annoyed by Anakin’s “sidekick” when she first appeared, but it did not take long for her to win me over. I grew up with the original films, and felt incredibly let down by the prequels (mostly because of the acting, dialogue, and green screens–not the story). Clone Wars redeemed the entire franchise for me and caused me to love it once more. At the center of that return for me was Ahsoka. I’m very much a Team Filoni guy. If he’s right, that Lucas wanted Star Wars to ultimately be hopeful, then it only makes sense Snips lives, as she has time and again embodied the kind of hope the stories need. Most of the other Jedi give into despair and darkness, but she has remained true blue. As dark as our world is at times (and hers), it’s encouraging and inspirational to see someone stay true to themselves and radiate the kind of goodness we want to believe is in the world.

      1. WRM

        Well stàted. I totally agree.

  3. Jason

Didn’t they already announce Ashoka was getting a spin-off series? And apparently, Rosario is signed on for 3 movies? I highly doubt this is a 1 off but I dont really see her fitting into the Mando story now unless they go after Thrawn which in my opion needs its own show or movie otherwise instead of the sci-fi western we have it will be rebels live-action, which would be cool, just not if it takes over the mando story.

    1. El Bearsidente

They could have at least used someone who can act for Ahsoka. Because, holy cow, Dawson is BAD.

  4. Dale

We LOVE Ahsoka and everything she has been a part of! We watched Mando and waited patiently for Ahsoka to appear!
    We are TEAM AHSOKA!

  5. Eli

Ashoka walking away from the Jedi did not remove her from Order 66 as we see in the last episode of Clone Wars that she is on the list so Filoni is contradicting himself by saying she only lived because she walked away from the order.

    1. Shaun

Isn’t Darth Vader a correct answer? He has his own comic series, was in canon novels, rebels and of course the movies

    2. Gregathor

Ahsoka leaving the order put her on that ship with Rex and maul. Rex hesitation to kill her even for just a moment, saved her from a shot in the back, like so many of the Jedi.

  6. Qitonia

It’s hard to put the genie back in the bottle once she gets out.

  7. Deed U No

    Team Asoka lives for D.Feloni
    &
Team G.Lucas for the End of Palps for good in RTJ!

  8. Initially, I assumed she had to die as she was in a prequel to a prequel movie with no mention of her beyond. Over the course of The Clone Wars series, I fell in love with the character, as did most Star Wars fans, and couldn’t imagine her dying. Now, I’m glad she didn’t die. I’m excited to see what the future holds for Ahsoka, be it her own series or movies. I just hope we get a lot more Ahsoka.

  9. C.Thomas

George had to fight fight fight he was the rebellion independent vs big studios only to sell to a big studio Walt Disney , that started small. As creator of a world he must note Ahsoka must live to repair the mistake of 8&9

  10. PVW

George likes to kill Jedi. In the prequels he killed dozens. Sam Jackson, Liam Neeson, Alec Guinness, Yoda? All die on his watch. Only one survived his main series. Of course he wanted to kill Ahsoka.

  11. Robert Center

This is such old news. Like, more than ten years old news. Perhaps we should talk about that new fangled invention called fire. Hear it’s going to be a huge hit.

  12. Mb

    Ahsola lives.

  13. Mike Madigan

The OT established the Sith as bad guys. The PT showed that the Jedi were also pretty terrible. The ST went back and forth between wanting to re-establish both or tearing down both and ended on a mess that just wanted to look pretty and damn logic and lore.
Lucas needs to move on. The PT was a cluster, so I don’t really give his current views much weight.

  14. Matthew Belrose

NO WAY!!!!!!Ashoka Tanno is the BEST thing to come out of the Star Wars universe since The Return of The Jedi!!!!PLEASE DON’T KILL HER!!!@

  15. Daryl-Rhys Taylor

Ashoka proves that Star wars fans are stupid. She is a boring Mary sue whose existence completely undermines the Star Wars cannon, and has none of the charisma of Daisy Ridley.

  16. I have to say Team Ahsoka. I mean lets face it how many Star wars adventures or spin offs do you get woman fighting like male Samurai warriors with duel light Sabers probably just added a miss- spelt word in there bit “honestly kill off Ahsoka she’s become a female hero to us girls no’ Don’t kill her off.

  17. Darth Corrigible

Watch Ep.II, then the entire run of Clone Wars (which is only the latter part of the war, less than two years…) and then Ep.III. Try to figure out how Anakin rants about “how can you not make me a master?” without mentioning Ahsoka. I’m not saying it would be a good argument – it would be a bad argument that would get shot down, but Anakin would still make it. I can’t imagine him not making the argument that training a padawan for two years, even with it ending poorly, is one more reason why he should be a Jedi Master.
This is beside the point that they made a character who was somehow more whiney and annoying than both Anakin’s and Luke’s worst moments, put together.
Sure, Rosario Dawson was cool in The Mandalorian… but Ahsoka should have died a long, long time ago.

  18. Kc

All the soy boys showing up to cape for Ashoka.

  19. El Bearsidente

Filoni is an untalented hack who can only produce Star Wars if someone keeps an eye on him.

Filoni made time travel gates in Jedi temples happen in Rebels. Then he had Thrawn defeated by space whales.

    Filoni is an imbecile.

  20. El Bearsidente

The trick Filoni used was making Ahsoka leave the Jedi order for bogus reasons. Now if she’s not a Jedi, she can’t be purged. This is how this hack makes things work.

    Filoni sucks donkey balls.
