Ahsoka — voiced by Ashley Eckstein in all seven seasons of the animated Star Wars: The Clone Wars series — is a longtime fan-favorite and people initially had mixed reactions to Rosario Dawson being cast, particularly over Eckstein.

Now that Dawson’s character has made her debut, however, Star Wars fans seem more than satisfied with where The Mandalorian is taking her story arc.

Even though this week’s episode of The Mandalorian only just dropped on the Disney+ streaming service today, the Star Wars fandom is already flipping over seeing Ahsoka Tano in live-action for the very first time.

Twitter user Jeremiah Ross shared a stunning photo of Dawson as Ahsoka, captioning the image:

It was at this moment that I knew it was going to be good. What an episode for the Mandalorian. Maybe the best one yet, especially for long time fans. #ahsoka #Mandalorian

The Drunken Jedi said what many fans seem to be thinking, tagging Episode 5 director Dave Filoni and saying:

@dave_filoni you absolutely deserve an #Emmys [Emmy Award]

That episode of #TheMandalorian was perfectly done with @rosariodawson as #Ahsoka

Peaked the owl, and noticed that very Ahsoka side look at the end.

Paul Mattson shared his opinion about the episode, writing:

I think @rosariodawsom hit it out of the park as #Ahsoka in this week’s #Mandalorian. Could not have asked for a better live-action debut for Ahsoka! Well done!

Twitter user Aashfaria shared a GIF that paid tribute to both Eckstein and Dawson’s versions of Ahsoka, writing:

Ahsoka Tano appreciation post. Animation vs Live Action. Dave Filoni does it again. #AhsokaTano #TheMandalorian

Star Wars fan Carl Lepeltier replied directly to actress Rosario Dawson’s post about the debut of Chapter 13, commenting:

Thank y0u @RosarioDawson for this so pure & deep portrayal of #AhsokaTano…Magical, mystical and mesmerizing vibrations all through this legendary cinematic piece of art that is this Chapter 13 of @TheMandalorian…

Will be remembered as a special milestone in @StarWars

Comments and thoughts about this week’s Mandalorian episode — which included The Child’s real name (no, it’s not Baby Yoda) — continue to roll in on social media.
