Imagineers and workers were seen this morning wading in the mud of the drained Rivers of America. The Liberty Belle Riverboat’s track emerged from the receding waters a few days ago, as cranes and ducks held a makeshift party in the puddles. Refurbishment is now officially underway for the Magic Kingdom attraction inside Liberty Square.
Official Work Begins on Liberty Belle Track
The Liberty Belle Riverboat often closes for refurbishment, repairs, or scheduled maintenance. Having closed on October 5, 2020, the Liberty Belle Riverboat schedule should reopen around Jan 2nd according to the My Disney Experience calendar, but keep in mind, is subject to change.
As the waters have now completely drained away from the center track (disappointing the many birds that were frolicking in them), Disney Cast Members, including Imagineers, can gain access into the riverbed to assess the upcoming project.
It seems as if several parts of the Liberty Belle track are being examined today, either to check on its operation or perhaps replacement. Cinderella Castle poses in the distance from one angle, and Frontierland looks on in the next photo, from our reporter TJ. As the work progresses on the Riverboat, Inside the Magic will continue to update the information we have!
Tiana’s ice cream social used to be stationed on the lower deck of the Riverboat, but with the hard-working Princess getting her own you have a bit more standing room to tootle around the River and take in the sights. There’s more to see than meets the eye the next time you take a ride! ,
Enjoying the views around Tom Sawyer Island and the scenic peeks from around Rivers of America have been some of our favorite Outdoor Activities at Magic Kingdom this year. There’s nothing like the churn of the engine and the wind in your hair as you breathe deep on the top deck. Adventure is out there, you just have to step aboard!
