Just because we’re not making merry memories together with loved ones inside Disneyland and Disney California Adventure while eating our way through all the Disney Parks treats and riding our favorite attractions in between, that doesn’t mean the Disneyland Resort isn’t making this holiday season the most magical time of the year.
Have a holly jolly Christmas because it’s the best time of the year, and Downtown Disney is dressed in this year’s holiday finest decorations! What a perfect place to gather your besties or family at this outdoor promenade where it’s easy to stay physically distanced and still enjoy the company of your fellow Disney lovers. Now, thanks to Disney Parks Blog, we know you can do some of that holiday gift shopping, and then sit down for a nice refreshing beverage and a warm meal.
Downtown Disney District
The greatest part is that in the beautiful sunny Southern California weather, you’ll be able to enjoy the outdoor dining that many of the restaurants have to offer most times of the year! As we’re giving thanks that we’re still able to at least have some of the Disney magic on the west coast, we can’t forget about the most thankful holiday of the year. And if you visit Downtown Disney between now and the end of the month, you’ll be able to enjoy one of these limited-time Thanksgiving meals.
- Black Tap Craft Burgers & Shakes: Thanksgiving Burger
- Earl of Sandwich: Holiday Turkey Sandwich
- Salt & Straw: A Scoop of Salted Thanksgiving Turkey or Sweet Potato Casserole with maple pecans
And because holiday calories don’t count, don’t forget to stop by the queen of sweets, Marceline’s Confectionery for one your those iconic Minnie Mouse Caramel Apples or Rice Krispy Treat. Marceline’s isn’t the only spot for sweets at Downtown Disney though so make your way over to one or more of these other stops for those holiday sweet treats.
- CrazyShake at Black Tap Craft Burger & Shakes: Chocolate Peppermint Cheesecake
- California Churro: White Christmas Churro
- Kayla’s Cake: Snowman Macaron
- Wetzel’s Pretzels: Holiday Pretzel
- Trolley Treats: Peppermint Marshmallow Wands
- Sprinkles: Cupcakes
Backlot Premiere Shop
If you’re looking to score Disney holiday goodies for someone, or maybe yourself, World of Disney isn’t the only spot for you to do that! Although World of Disney is definitely where you’ll want to go if you’re looking to donate an unwrapped toy to a child in need with Toys for Tots.
Disneyland opened the Backlot Premiere Shop last month over in Disney California Adventure in time to shop all the Disney spooky season merchandise, and now for a more festive look, they’ll have the Disneyland Spirit Jerseys, Loungefly’s, a Mickey snow blower, and so many more winter goods. The Backlot Premiere Shop, World of Disney, The Disney Dress Shop, Disney Home, Rinse Bath & Body Co., and Pandora are all shopping stops where you can find items from this year’s Disney holiday collections.
Buena Vista Street
Starting Thursday, November 19th, Guests will be able to enjoy even more shopping and dining inside Disney California Adventure on Buena Vista Street operating as an extension of the Downtown Disney District. Get your wallets ready for all of the Disney Parks merchandise at Elias & Co. and Julius Katz & Sons! But first, go for that Mediterranean-California dining experience at Carthay Circle Lounge’s new, Alfresco Dining. Then you can walk off all that goodness you ate while shopping.
When the day is done and you need to relax, the adult Disney lovers should head over to La Brea Bakery for a Merry Manhattan, the Tinsel-Tini, a Mistletoe Margarita, the Joyful Daiquiri, or a Jolly Old Fashioned. Have one. Have two. Have a few with those extraordinary people in your lives because it’s the time of year for gathering.
