With the holiday season in full swing at the Disneyland Resort, Guests are getting in the festive spirit! We can’t wait to experience all of the holiday decorations and all of the festive treats — like the Disneyland famous candy canes.
Usually, by now, Disneyland and Disney California Adventure Park would have announced their candy cane availability schedule. However, no such announcement has been made. It could be due to the fact that both the Candy Palace and Trolley Treats are currently closed — BUT, with Buena Vista Street reopening and Marceline’s Confectionary being open in Downtown Disney, we can still hope to experience this half-century holiday tradition. Right?
Unfortunately, as we have learned from the OC Register, with this year and things being a different as they are, Disneyland will not offer their candy canes this year. This has been officially confirmed by Disney.
Due to new health and safety protocol, the resort cannot produce their hand-pulled candy canes this holiday season. And because lines for these holiday treats tend to be quite long, this could get in the way of safe social distancing protocol along Buena Vista Street.
This is what the Disneyland Resort says about their hand-pulled candy canes:
This tradition dates back to 1968, making this year the 49th anniversary of these incredible candy canes. Each year, guests flock to the Disneyland Resort to get in on the hand-crafted sweetness. These candy canes measure a whopping 18 inches long.
And although this tradition can’t continue this holiday season, we are hopeful for the opportunity to get to the parks super early and wait in a long line for a delicious, hand-pulled, famous Disneyland candy cane next holiday season.
