It looks like the return of the holiday crowds are encroaching on Universal Orlando with Columbus Day around the corner. Universal Orlando Resort has imposed limited capacity on it’s three theme parks: Universal Studios, Universal’s Islands of Adventure, and Universal’s Volcano Bay, and right now you can only visit the waterpark.

Inside the Magic has confirmed with Universal that both theme parks — Universal Studios and Universal’s Islands of Adventure — are closed due to capacity. We saw a very similar situation happen on Labor Day when all three parks hit capacity when photos of very crowded theme parks surfaced from guests attending that day.

The Universal Orlando App also allows you to check for capacity and as you can see, both Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure reflect as closed, meaning no guests are able to currently enter the parks.

From the looks of it, it seems that Universal Orlando hit capacity only 2 hours after opening. Social media user Killberly took to Twitter to announce that she was unable to enter at 11:00 AM, and it seems that nothing has changed since.

Got to Universal… can’t even go in because they’re at capacity… at 11am. Are they giving away free stuff? Like what’s the tea?

It seems that she was not the only guest who couldn’t enter the park at that time. Cheryl also tweeted:

Bought season passes to #UniversalStudios Studios florida and get there at 11 to find all the parks are at capacity. Thought that only happens during summer? Do they open back up later in the day or do you have to be there first thing?

It seems that Unviersal Orlando Annual Passholders are unhappy the fact that even with an annual pass, they may not have the chance to enter the parks due to capacity restrictions. The following photo, posted on Instagram by @internationaldriveorlando shows that social distancing appears to be next to impossible at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

@Mags_1018 also posted the entry way into CityWalk at Universal Orlando around an hour prior to the parks hitting capacity and it seems that guests were already beginning to crowd towards the park.

If you ever want to check for capacity, you can call Universal’s Capacity Hotline. The number to call for Universal’s Capacity Hotline is (407) 817-8317. An automated system will answer and will ask you two questions:

If you are staying at a Universal Orlando Resort Hotel, press 1. All other guests press 1.
If you are planning to visit Universal Studios Florida and Universal’s Islands of Adventure, press 1. If you are planning to visit Universal’s Volcano Bay, press 2.

You will then be told if the park is open or not and it takes less than 1 minute of your time!

Do you think the crowds at Universal Orlando are too big today? Let us know!
