On November 18, Disney+ will debut a brand new series with some classic characters: The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse. And now, we got our first look at what to expect.
Here we can see Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, and Goofy striking a pose at a roller disco, looking almost exactly the way they did in the recent Mickey Mouse cartoon shorts that have debuted on Disney Channel since 2012 (and yes, unfortunately, we should be expecting pantsless Goofy to be sticking around.)
According to D23,
The new Disney+ original series will feature Mickey and his best pals—Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, and Pluto—as they embark on their greatest adventures yet in a wild and zany world where the magic of Disney makes the impossible possible. Fans are in store for a mouse-terful combination of laugh-out-loud comedy, modern settings, timeless stories, new music, and the unmistakable art style of the Mickey Mouse shorts, which put a contemporary twist on a classic look that harkens back to Mickey’s 1928 beginnings.
Well, this picture definitely provides some zany expectations, and this writer is looking forward to seeing Disney bring back some classic cartoon antics.
Disney has also stated that each episode is going to be only seven minutes long which makes this series ideal for binging. There will also be stories inspired by various Disney park themed lands and cameos of classic heritage characters. This makes us think back to certain Mickey Mouse shorts moments like when we see the Abominable Snowman from the Matterhorn (complete with a bobsled wreck at the entrance of his cave), jumping in on Cinderella and Prince Charming in Paris, and the Mary Blair style architecture.
All five seasons of the Mickey Mouse shorts are available now to binge on Disney+ so you can get all caught up.
