As we have just received an influx of Cast Member performers being let go at Walt Disney World, we now received more news on the California front.

Disneyland has now been closed for over Seven months now. The Downtown Disney District has been operating safely amid California state mandates and safety protocol. Now, the retail and dining of the district is expanding to offer more retail and dining at Disney California Adventure’s Buena Vista Street next month. Some Cast Members have been recalled to help with this expansion.

However, with the help of @gothicrosie on Instagram, we received the news that the Disneyland Laundry Department is beginning to receive layoff calls. In this post it states:
The full time workers in the Union will remain employed/furloughed but sadly all part time Cast will be let go. Once the FT CMs are on call back not all will be called back so, like all the other unions, if they do not get called back in the second round there is no guarantee that will mean they retain their seniority/position. Many unions have negotiated the retention of all their Full Time members with the complete loss of the Part Time members. The constant here is that seniority/position/pay grade will remain intact for FT CMs still on furlough and all callbacks will occur in a seniority order. So even though there is more job security for the FT CMs, they are still under the threat of layoff and are under immense stress.
There are plenty of ways that we all can help Cast Members that have been greatly affected by these layoffs. There are operating food banks that are available to Cast Members only that are receiving donations. Here is a guide of how you can help Cast Members during this difficult time.
