My Disney App Experience

If you are headed to Disney World from now through to 2022, the Disney Park Pass reservation system is likely going to be your best friend. This is how you will get your magical ticket to walk through the Disney park gate of your choice, so long as reservations are not at capacity.

That being said, reservations do tend to move faster than Forky running to a trash bin. You can make your Disney Park Pass reservations on your My Disney Experience app, and Disney is taking strides further on helping their Guests book those park days faster than ever so that you have the best shot at getting that Disney’s Hollywood Studios reservation to ride Rise of the Resistance.

How to now make a Disney Park Pass reservation

Once you have your tickets or Annual Pass linked to your My Disney Experience account, you will be all set to start making reservations for your next Disney World visit! On the MDE app, you simply need to click the “+”, which is the main menu, and you will see that ‘Make a Park Reservation’ is one of the options!

This is a new feature that will allow Guests to access the Disney Park Pass reservation system with fewer clicks than previously needed. With the reservation system right at your fingertips, it’s never been easier to book a day at Magic Kingdom, or any other Disney World theme park.

There is a con to this new process, and it’s a step Disney has yet to remove. Unfortunately, the My Disney Experience app runs in tandem with the Walt Disney World website. This means that when you want to make that Disney Park Pass reservation, you need to do it via the website, and not the app.

When you click ‘Make a Park Reservation’ you will be directed to the site, which more times than not, will make you enter your email and password to continue. This is a speed bump in the rather accelerated route Disney had chosen for the short cut feature on the app. Although Disney has yet to announce making any changes, it would be nice to see the My Disney Experience app be able to run on its own, without having to access the website.

And if Disney Park Pass reservations are sticking through for the next couple of years, it would be very convenient to Guests if Disney was able to streamline this process!
