October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Disney fans on social media have decided to “make it pink” (as Sleeping Beauty’s fairies would say) to encourage women around the United States to take their breast health seriously.

According to Cancer.net, “This year, an estimated 276,480 women in the United States will be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer, and 48,530 women will be diagnosed with non-invasive (in situ) breast cancer.” These alarming statistics show why it is so important for ladies to “go pink” this month, not only to support women who have already been diagnosed, but to take preventive measures on their own.

Today, October 23, for the final week of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, @magickingdommorins has shared two ways you can support breast cancer research — and get some great Disney merchandise!

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month ? A couple years ago my family’s life was rocked. My mom, the most strong, caring, badass woman I know, was diagnosed with breast cancer. After a double mastectomy and chemo, my mom is now fully recovered. I wanted to use my platform for good, to spread awareness. 1 in 8 women in the United States will develop breast cancer in their lifetime. For the month of October I have partnered with 4 AMAZING shops that will be donating a percentage of their proceeds to breast cancer research. Our first shop is @shimmeringeverafter ! For any passholder design in pink or pink cancer ribbon bought on either a sweatshirt or t-shirt, she will donate 15% of total proceeds. ? on top of working with INCREDIBLE shops, my goal is to spread awareness! I am asking everyone to take a picture of them in pink and use the hashtag #magicmorinsmakeitpink ! I will feature you on my page and stories and together we can make a difference! • • • S W I P E to see one of the amazing half zips from @shimmeringeverafter !

“Make it pink”…mixing my princess references I know but today we want to raise awareness and hope during this National Breast Cancer awareness month. . My friend @magickingdommorins is doing her part to honor her mother who battled this dreaded disease and I am honored to have been asked to participate for the cause! While not breast, both my parents have battled forms of cancer and I know all too well how this disease can rock your foundation and bring chaos in a blink. . Breast cancer doesn’t just affect women. It doesn’t discriminate. Please be breast cancer aware. Perform self examinations regularly, schedule annual mammograms and donate to research and support if you’re able. We all can play a part. . I was my mother’s bone marrow donor. She is now in her fifth year of remission. Not everyone has the same fate. I hate cancer. I battle cancer for my Mom and Dad…who do you battle for ??? Let’s “make it pink” and fight together! . . . . . #breastcancerresearchfoundation #breastcancerawarenessmonth #breastcancer #cancersupport #cancersucks #makeitpink #cinderella #disneyprincess #disneygirl #styledbymagic #cinderellascastle #disneycostume #disneyprincessstyle #disneyparks #disneyworld #disneyland #magicmorinsmakeitpink
