Walt Disney World’s EPCOT park is undergoing a major construction update throughout the entire park. When announced at the 2019 at the D23 Expo, EPCOT’s entrance would be receiving quite the facelift. Guests of the park have been able to see the ongoing changes, but today we’ve got some aerial shots of the update of the entrance!
EPCOT will be home to many changes including new attractions, new pavilions, and a new entrance! The beginning phases of this transformation began with the removal of the EPCOT “Leave a Legacy” monoliths. The monoliths sat just beyond the turnstiles and were removed to create a more open area for crowd flow leading up to Spaceship Earth. In their place will be plenty of greenery and a new reimagined fountain. In these aerial photos from @bioreconstruct, we can see the newest developments to the fountain.

In this photo, you can see the latest installation of the acrylic pylons representing the new worlds coming to EPCOT: World Celebration, World Nature, and World Discovery. It seems like this project is near completion and guests can’t wait to see how this new signature fountain will represent a new EPCOT that the Walt Disney World Resort has never seen before.
In this photo, you can really see the crowd pathways that will surround the new signature fountain. This looks like it will create a better crowd flow and reduce the bottleneck effect that monoliths did not.
Disney Imagineer, Zach Riddley, who is the lead of this particular EPCOT project believes that the new fountain and entrance will be completed this year even after delays due to the global pandemic.
