After months of Disney Parks being close due to the current pandemic, there seems to be a light at the end of the tunnel. Recently Disney Parks around the world are beginning to reopen and the magic is coming back! One thing that has altered the Guest experience is character meet and greets to comply with social distancing efforts. Now, we are learning that the meet and greet experience is making a comeback!
How is Tokyo Disney Gradually Bringing Back the Magic?
The Tokyo Disney Resort is gradually making strides to return back to regular operations in a healthy and safe way. In order to preserve the magic during these times, the resort is looking to bring back high volume experiences. The resort recently just announced the late September opening of their extended Fantasyland which includes the highly anticipated Beauty and the Beast dark ride. Today, the Tokyo Disney Resort also announced that it would follow in the footsteps of the Shanghai Disneyland and welcome back character meet and greets for guests!

Which Characters Will Be Available?
They resort is planning to implement an Entry Request system. This system is comparable to a first-come-first serve type of system. Other than the knowledge of the system and which locations will be offering meet and greets, no other information is being given at this time. However, we suspect they may be somewhat similar to how they have been implemented at Shanghai Disneyland, in which Guests stand at least six feet from the character but can easily take a photo near them.
What Meet and Greets Will Be Available:

- Tokyo Disneyland
- Mickey’s House & Meet Mickey Mouse (Mickey Mouse)

- Tokyo Disney Sea
- ¡Saludos Amigos! Greeting Dock (Duffy)
- Mickey & Friends Greeting Trails (Mickey Mouse)
