Gaylord Palms Resort in Kissimmee Florida is known for its incredible Christmas offerings. Over the years they have dazzled and amazed guests with their “ICE at Gaylord Palms” exhibits that allow you to escape the Florida sun and marvel at the beautiful sculpted ice. This year however, the artisans who create the exhibits are unable to travel to Orlando due to restrictions amid the pandemic.
A new event in its place will be an interactive pop-up exhibit that will feature scenes from your favorite holiday films. According to the Gaylord Palms site, “I Love Christmas Movies” will have you: “Travel with Buddy the Elf from Santa’s North Pole workshop to New York City; take photos in front of the Griswold’s house adorned with thousands of Christmas lights; and more!”
It will feature 13 fully immersive scenes from films including The Polar Express, A Christmas Story, Elf, Christmas Vacation, and The Year Without Santa Claus.
In addition to the exhibit, Gaylord Palms will also be offering other Christmas activities such as scavenger hunts, gingerbread decorating, ice tubing, stage shows, and more!
In a statement to the media, general manager Johann Krieger said, “The holidays are the perfect time of the year to make memories with friends and family, and we know that this year more than ever, guests will be looking for places where they can celebrate the magic of the season in a safe environment,”
The ongoing concern of the pandemic has also led to create enhanced safety measures and social distancing, especially during holidays.
The event will run from November 13th to January 3rd. Tickets are set to go on sale in early October.
