Disney Fans Launch #ThankYouPhotoPass Social Media Movement

in Disney, Walt Disney World

Disney Parks PhotoPass photographers have been through a lot over the past year or so. First, they were nearly replaced by stationary cameras — and Disney Parks fans came to their aid online — and now, they are potentially going to be impacted by The Walt Disney Company’s massive layoffs…and Disney Parks fans are once again taking to social media to help.

Although Disney has not confirmed that PhotoPass Cast Members will be affected by the layoffs, Disney theme park lovers are taking no chances. The #ThankYouPhotoPass hashtag is spreading across various social media platforms, with Disney fans sharing some of their favorite PhotoPass photographer memories.

Instagram user @nefertaraten shared details about the social media movement in her post:

If you’ve ever been to #Disneyland or #WaltDisneyWorld, and if you’ve had a memory captured by #PhotoPass, now would be a good time to find it and share it.

Tag #ThankYouPhotoPass for those who could use a reminder that they’ve given you something special.

@cuteandcozymaile also encouraged her followers to share their favorite theme park PhotoPass memories on their own social media profiles:

Thank you to the Disneyland photographers for capturing this picture, taken less than a week before Disneyland closed.

If you’ve ever been to #Disneyland or #DisneyWorld, and if you’ve had a memory captured by PhotoPass, now would be a good time to find it and share it.

Please post images that photo pass took when you’ve came to Disney and use the hashtag #thankyouphotopass

@keepquirky shared a lengthy, heartfelt post about how much she and her family love PhotoPass photographers:

These are just a few of the moments caught by #DisneyPhotoPass photographers during Clara’s early years visiting Disneyland. They are such devastatingly sweet memories, and I could not have photographed them nearly as well as they did. PhotoPass photographers are a vital part of the #DisneyParks magic because they help capture beautiful moments for families so they can focus on each other.

Again, remember that Disney has not confirmed that PhotoPass photographers are going anywhere. Considering Cast Members are no longer allowed to hold Guests’ phones or cameras due to COVID-19 restrictions, it would be surprising to see all photographers let go at this time.

Nonetheless, the #ThankYouPhotoPass social media campaign is a wonderful way to remind these special Cast Members how much we appreciate them making magic every day!

Don’t forget to share your own #ThankYouPhotoPass pictures (including special Magic Shots!) to your personal social media profiles.
