Disney has just announced that the popular Cinderella’s Royal Table restaurant will be reopening with some huge changes.
Cinderella’s Royal Table at Walt Disney World Resort did not reopen when Magic Kingdom reopened on July 11. This is a character dining restaurant where Guests’ favorite Disney Princesses walk around to each of the tables for greetings and photo opportunities. But with character meet and greets and character dining being reimagined, it made sense for Disney to delay the reopening of Cinderella’s Royal Table (CRT).
Note: when Cinderella’s Royal Table reopens, characters will not be there. But Guests can still dine inside the castle!
Here’s what the official reopening announcement says, courtesy of Disney Parks Blog:
Beginning Sept. 24, Guests can enjoy dining in the enchanted, fairytale setting of Cinderella’s Royal Table at Magic Kingdom Park. Enjoy a delicious regal banquet with unforgettable main courses ranging from roasted chicken breast and tenderloin of beef to chef’s fish of the day. The princesses will be taking a break from their royal duties greeting Guests, but there will be plenty of delicious fare and fun to be enjoyed in this beautiful, one-of-a-kind restaurant.
You can make reservations online and on the My Disney Experience app beginning September 11.
As a reminder, characters will not be at Cinderella’s Royal Table when the restaurant reopens, and we don’t yet know if or when the princesses will return. The restaurant is known for being rather small, and tables are rather close together, so it would be difficult for the princesses to create magical, physically distanced interactions in such close qaurters. However, the fact that the announcement says the princesses are “taking a break” gives us hope that Cinderella, Aurora, Snow White, Jasmine, Ariel, and all of our favorite Disney heroines will be back someday in the future.
If anything changes regarding the operations of Cinderella’s Royal Table or if characters come back, we will be sure to update Inside the Magic. For more recent information, view the restaurant’s official web page.
