Disney fans are fierce about their favorite Theme Park snacks, whether it be a Dole Whip, Orange Bird Swirl, Churro, or a Corn Dog Nugget boat. When Magic Kingdom reopened this late Spring, Casey’s Corner was on the list of restaurants that were NOT going to reopen immediately, and fans were beyond dismayed about this Disney food joint.
Last week, we saw the opening of Westward Ho, a snack stand in Frontierland, which traditionally offerings sodas and quick-grab snacks for sale at Walt Disney World Resort. At this time, Westward Ho is selling our coveted Casey’s Corndog Nuggets, but hardcore hotdog fans will catch up when they hear that Casey’s Corner may soon reopen! We have photos and proof of preparations being cooked up at our favorite quick service restaurant!
Reopening Preparations at Casey’s Corner
Facebook user Nicole Connell sent Inside the Magic these photos she took at Magic Kingdom today. Standing outside the Mobile Order Door on Main Street, U.S.A., Nicole could see lights through the door! A foot long hot dog with french fries will soon be on the menu!!
Sadly devoid of furniture in its current state, Casey’s Corner was spic and span with lights gleaming all over. The area was also roped off from Disney’s Magic Kingdom Main Street Emporium, allowing nearby shoppers to peer into the clean yet deserted space. One can see the numbers posted on the floor. In the photo below, “1” and “7” are visible with others in the distance. These relate to Mobile Order numbers where Guests will be able to social distance while waiting for their food item or whole meal!
In a Facebook group Connell belongs to, she posted the following note with a photo:
“I’m here from August 31st- September 30th! I’ve seen the progress of stuff reopening & the Halloween stuff roll out!! 2-3 days ago the mobile order dots went down on the ground!! Today we have the window stickers up. ! The door was open too & the lights were on!! “
In this photo of our favorite Disney , you can see Mobile Order numbers 1 and 2, with what looks to be a social distancing reminder in a stand on the bartop.
Unfortunately, we don’t know exactly when Main Street U.S.A.’s beloved hotdog and corndog stand will once again open step up to the plate and open to Walt Disney World Guests. There has been no official announcement from Disney. However, these signs of progress leave very little doubt that its reopening day cannot be too far away!
Our cravings for a chili cheese dog with apple slices or french fries cannot be quenched! (Heck, at this point, we’d take cheese sauce and bacon toppings to boot!) And while the Disney Dining Plan is not yet activated, Guests will be able to use mobile order when the quick service restaurant reopens. We at Inside the Magic will update our readers as more information regarding Casey’s Corner comes to light.
