Whether you’re a seasoned Disney Cruise Line passenger or you haven’t yet had the chance to go on a Disney Cruise vacation for yourself, today’s #DisneyMagicMoments video featuring the AquaDuck water coaster is sure to leave you feeling breathless.
The seafaring thrill ride is billed as the the very first cruise ship water coaster and is unique to two ships in the Disney Cruise Line fleet!
The AquaDuck water coaster can be found onboard the Disney Fantasy and the Disney Dream. There is not yet word on whether or not the new Disney Wish ship will have a water coaster like this one, or possibly something even more impressive.
The official Disney Cruise Line description of the shipboard attraction reads:
Developed by Disney Imagineers, this elevated “water coaster” is the first of its kind at sea. Unprecedented on a Disney Cruise Line ship—or, for that matter, any cruise ship—the AquaDuck boldly goes… everywhere!
As you whiz through 765 feet of snaking tubes, transparent and uncovered sections afford you breathtaking views of the ocean and ship below—assuming you can keep your eyes open! Get a bird’s-eye view of pools throughout the ship as powerful water jets propel you and your 2-person raft through uphill climbs, and then splash into a lazy river at the end of the plunge.
At this time, Disney Cruise Line has the following notice on their website regarding future sailings to the Bahamas, Europe, and all other destinations the Disney fleet visits:
In alignment with the announcement made on August 5, 2020 by Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) regarding the voluntary extension of suspended passenger operations from U.S. ports, Disney Cruise Line is cancelling sailings through at least October 31, 2020.
Disney is still offering bookings for December 2020 Very Merrytime cruises. Remember, however, these itineraries could still be canceled depending on the status of the pandemic later this year.
For now, Disney Cruise Line fans can live vicariously through this virtual AquaDuck ride through! What do you think of the Disney water coaster?
