Disney has revealed it’s next live-action remake will be coming to theaters after all. Well–at least parts of it will. As per a new release by Disney, beginning August 21, guests visiting Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be able to see a sneak peek at scenes from Disney’s Mulan for a limited time.

The special sneak preview will be coming to Walt Disney Presents and as part of the experience, guests will also be able to see a display featuring an original witch costume used in the production of the film. This display will be in addition to an authentic replica of a warrior costume and a sword that will also be out for guests to see as well.

Earlier this month, Disney revealed the highly-anticipated movie would not be coming to theaters, given the current pandemic, and instead would be available for streaming on Disney+ for a premium price of $29.99. The film is set to be released on their streaming service beginning September 4.

The film was due out in theaters earlier this year but had been postponed multiple times as a result of worsening worldwide pandemic.

Mulan

Currently, this is the second film Disney has revealed would no longer be premiering in theaters but instead, go straight to streaming due to the pandemic. Earlier this year, Disney revealed their film Artemis Fowl would also end up on the streaming service.

However, Artemis Fowl was available to all of its subscribers at no additional cost. Disney’s Mulan will be the first Disney film available on the streaming service at an additional fee.

As we previously shared, not all fans were excited over this premium pricing to see the film. The CEO of the Walt Disney Company, Bob Chapek explained that Mulan is being treated as a “one-off” extra-cost release. But at the same time, they are viewing this as a test and will be watching the results carefully.
