Credit: Marvel StudiosThe Disney and Marvel fan communities are still reeling from yesterday’s news of Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman’s untimely passing from colon cancer.
His fellow actors are also devastated by the announcement and several have taken to social media to share memories of Boseman.
Chris Evans, who portrays Avenger Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, posted a black and white photo of him and Boseman on Instagram.
Evans shared with his 5 million followers:
I’m absolutely devastated. This is beyond heartbreaking. Chadwick was special. A true original. He was a deeply committed and constantly curious artist. Few performers have such power and versatility. He had so much amazing work still left to create. I’m endlessly grateful for our friendship. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. Rest in power, King. 💙
Disney star Josh Gad, best known for voicing Olaf in the Frozen franchise and playing LeFou in the live-action Beauty and the Beast, also shared a tribute to Boseman on Instagram. His caption read simply, “Goodbye my friend.”
Gad began his tearful video saying:
“There aren’t words to express what an amazing human being Chadwick Boseman was. You come upon people in your life who are next-level good. This was a man who was beyond talented and was so unbelievably giving.”
Robert Downey, Jr., who plays Iron Man in the MCU, also took to social media to share a meaningful post about Boseman’s life.
He wrote:
“Mr. Boseman leveled the playing field while fighting for his life… That’s heroism. I’ll remember the good times, the laughter, and the way he changed the game…”

Evans, Gad, and RDJ join The Walt Disney Company and Marvel Studios in sending their heartfelt condolences to Boseman’s family during this unimaginably difficult time.
Disney and Marvel’s statements read simply:
Our hearts are broken and our thoughts are with Chadwick Boseman’s family. Your legacy will live on forever. Rest In Peace.
