Hollywood Studios Reopens With First 100+ Minute Wait Time

On the reopening day of Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway became the first Walt Disney World attraction to record a wait time of over 100 minutes long.

The My Disney Experience app shows that Hollywood Studios’s newest attraction already had a wait time of 120 minutes.

That number has since been updated to 90 minutes, and it was last spotted at 70 minutes. but the attraction still holds the longest recorded wait time at Walt Disney World with Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run in second place with 55-minute wait, Tower of Terror spotted at third with a 45-minute wait time. Toy Story Mania and Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith tied for fourth with a 40-minute wait time.

For those up-to-date with Disney’s Hollywood Studio news, this should come as no surprise. Disney’s Hollywood Studios was the first Disney World theme park to have Annual Passholders completely book up Disney’s park pass system for reopening day, and pre-pandemic crowds were already recording immense wait times for the attraction.

At this point in the phased reopening of the Walt Disney World resort, shorter wait times have been one of the highlights of going back to the parks. Many iconic attractions are showing wait times less than 30 minutes. Guests are also, no doubt, scrambling to experience Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.
