Due to the current pandemic, Disney fans and lovers are still limited on purchasing new Disney merchandise products online through shopDisney. That includes those people that vigorously collect Disney pins. Thursdays are a special day for pin collectors, and pin trader, since shopDisney releases new pins on their website at 10AM (ET) / 7AM (PT).
For this week’s , shopDisney had announced some July new limited edition trading pins to be released on Thursday, July 30th, but the day came and the new pins were not up on the website. That caused a lot of confusion for Disney pin collectors.
Just talked to SHOP DISNEY & they said that they never put out a flier stating that there was a pin drop this morning & they don’t do that anymore & there was not supposed to be a pin drop this morning. This is so messed up. They had absolutely no idea what I was talking about.?

Disney has not released the reason to why the issue occurred, but they did apologize for the inconvenience and as promised by shopDisney on Twitter, the pins were released on their website this morning!
We are so sorry for this inconvenience! The pins will launch tomorrow 7/31 at 7AM (PT). ^KG

This is not the first time – and certainly won’t be the last – that shopDisney has some issues. The Minnie Mouse It’s a Small World collection released in April also had some issues. Some customers who bought items from that collection were double charged for their purchase.
However, if you plan on going onto shopDisney to purchase the new limited edition pins, you might have to wait in line to get access to Disney’s online store.

The virtual waiting room is a normal occurrence at shopDisney’s website when there is a very awaited new collection. But, despite this, the wait is not long at all, just a couple of minutes.
Yet, some high demand items won’t be using the virtual waiting room like shopDisney did for the pins. Instead, they will use a MerchPass, which you can read more about here.
