It hasn’t been approved yet for the Disneyland Resort theme parks in Anaheim, CA will reopen on July 17th.  They have proposed a plan for then, and we know that once there is confirmation, many Disney fans will be rushing to use their existing tickets.

Disney did extend the use of discounted tickets and we shared information on Military Tickets, but new ticket sales and annual pass renewals are currently paused.  This guide is to help those who have existing tickets and active annual passes in the process of getting a reservation on the new system that will limit the capacity of guests entering the park.

What’s Going On Right Now

Downtown Disney is reopening on July 9th with new health and safety guidelines which guests should be aware of before going.  Disney is currently working toward making sure that similar health measures are in place when Cast Members and Guests do return to the parks, so that when they do it is in a safe manner.

A statement from Disneyland reads, “Our focus remains on the health and safety of the entire Disney community- including the well-being of the Cast Members who are caring for and securing our parks and Resort Hotels during the closure.  We’re currently evaluating new and enhance health and safety measures to help us all stay well.”

Multi-Day Ticket
Multi-day tickets have different entitlements and validity dates. Please check the details of a particular multi-day ticket at time of purchase.

Upgrading Tickets
If you have purchased a 1-day ticket and decide to use it for a day on which it is not valid, you can upgrade the ticket by applying the paid value of the ticket toward the price of the new ticket at any Disneyland Resort Guest Relations location, with some limitations.

If you are visiting using a theme park ticket and decide you’d like an Annual Passport, you can upgrade your ticket―which applies the paid value of the ticket toward the cost of an Annual Passport―at any Disneyland ticket booth, with some limitations.

Additional Information
The amount paid for an unused, expired ticket may be applied towards the purchase of a new ticket at the current price so long as the new ticket purchase price is equal to or greater than the amount paid for the original ticket.

Validity dates will continue to be published from time to time. The dates assigned to each tier or season and the number of days in each tier or season may change from year to year.

Unless otherwise stated, tickets are not valid for separately priced activities or events. No credit or refund will be given if a higher season ticket is used on a lower season date or if a higher tier ticket is used on a lower tier date. Admission is subject to capacity, closures and to other restrictions.

In addition to valid theme park admission, certain experiences may require a separate reservation.
