Disney Springs is beginning its phased reopening on May 20, 2020 and it was recently confirmed by Eric Clinton, President of the UNITE HERE Local 362 union, that Disney operated stores and restaurants will be joining some of the third party restaurants in reopening.
Disney owned stores and restaurants will be opening on May 27, 2020, while the rest of Disney Springs begins its opening on May 20. Despite this, My Disney Experience is showing limited restaurant reservation availability beginning on June 1.
This was not the case a few days ago when several Disney Springs restaurants had availability, including Chef Art Smith’s Homecoming, which you can see in the screenshot below taken a few days ago.
But now, when trying to make a dining reservation through My Disney Experience, only two restaurants appear for availability throughout the month of June — Wine Bar George and Ravello. You can see this reflected in the several screenshots below when Inside the Magic tried making reservations for June 1, June 3 and June 14.
Disney Springs Reopening
Eric Clinton, President of the UNITE HERE Local 362 union stated that all guests and employees will have to wear masks while on Disney Springs property. Guests will also have their temperatures checked and registers will have plexiglass dividers installed. Many other health and safety procedures will be followed as Disney Springs begins its phased reopening to its guests.
You can read a full list of confirmed Disney Springs restaurants that will be reopening here. We highly suggest if you want to make an advanced dining reservation to check out OpenTable, not My Disney Experience, as reservation availability appears to be receiving updates in real-time on OpenTable as opposed to Disney World’s app.
Please keep in mind that Disney has not yet released an official reopening date or statement for the remainder of Walt Disney World Resort in Florida.
