Selecting Arrival Times

This news comes from a feature on the My Disney Experience app that hasn’t been seen before at Walt Disney World. Now, when placing mobile orders, it appears that guests will need to select an arrival window to pick up their orders. In the past, guests could place orders and that would then send a notification of when the order was ready to be picked up. However, it appears that guests will now be required to select 30-minute increments of time when they will arrive to pick up their orders.

New Payment Methods

Disney gift card and Apple Pay users rejoice! Mobile Order finally added additional payment method options including the aforementioned Disney gift cards and Apple Pay. Also accepted will be Disney Dining Cards and Disney Reward Redemption cards as can be seen below in these screenshots captured from the My Disney Experience app.

What To Expect

While this feature is new to Walt Disney World Resort, it isn’t new to the Disney parks overall. Disneyland has used this feature for its mobile ordering system in the past.

Icon, Utensils and Phone/Tablet

Currently, it isn’t clear if this feature will be present at all Quick Service Food and Beverage restaurants resort-wide–however, it is a safe assumption that it will be implemented given the safety measures that the resort will be enforcing following social distancing guidelines. By specifying certain windows of time for guests to pick up their orders, it allows for a more steady guest flow which will help with crowds. Even if the resort doesn’t enforce the new measures extremely strictly, it will likely provide a more orderly way of picking up food with safe distancing.
