The Disney Eats Instagram stories recently featured a sneak peek of one of the Disney recipes that will be featured in the new book.
We have the lowdown on Hidden Mickey Apple Slice Sandwiches. These sound like the perfect after school treat for Disney loving kids! They’re also great if you’re a kid at heart (that’s all of us at ITM).

What You Need:
-1 large apple
-1/3 c of your preferred nut butter (peanut butter, almond butter, etc.)
-1/4 c of crisp rice cereal (i.e. Rice Krispies) or chopped almonds
What You Do:
- Cut the apple crosswise into 1/4-inch thick slices (there should be enough for 4 sandwiches). Remove the apple seeds. To form Mickey’s head, use a round mini pastry cutter to cut a circle in the center of half the apple slices. Cut two small ears atop each head with the end of a round pastry tip.
- Spread the remaining apple slices with a heaping tablespoon of nut butter so that it reaches the edges. Press a cut slice on top of each.
- Place the rice cereal in a small bowl. Dip the edges of each sandwich in the cereal to coat the nut butter.
Oh boy! You’re done! This simple Disney recipe is a fun way to add some magic to your kids’ snack time routine. These could also be made into caramel apple treats with the addition of some caramel drizzle!
